It's basically Helldivers meets Call of Duty meets Killing Floor.

Their hub is basically a rip from Helldivers.
The battle pass is a carbon copy of the Helldivers 2 battle pass system.
The weapon customization is basically Helldivers 2.

I don't get why Tripwire felt the need to copy another game. It's like they had zero confidence in creating another masterpiece.

I played in the closed beta. Not much has changed. They did make characters separate from perks. Originally, characters were locked to specific perks.

Performance is still an issue. Some maps run really rough. Game is very unoptimized.

Also, there still is no text chat. I don't understand that. Pretty much everyone hot mics. You cannot avoid that unless you either turn off coms, or mute the person. Kind of annoying to be forced to have voice coms on since there is no text chat.

With that being said. I have enjoyed the game for what it is. I try to ignore the fact that this is a Killing Floor game.

I think if you have never played a Killing Floor game before, you would likely enjoy this. To those who fell in love with Killing Floor 1 and 2, you will be disappointed.

Early Access Review
If you like Audiosurf, you will love this game. It was a frustrating start but after I practiced with the controls a bit, I do a bit better now. There are some great things and some not so great things so I will try to list them all.

Great things:
-Plenty of cars and paints for the cars.
-Visually stunning.
-Simple yet challenging.
-Track variation is pretty good, although I have found a few songs where most of the song is just drifting back and forth which is quite boring. For the most part though, the tracks are pretty good.
-Shiny!

Not so great things:
-If you have a downloaded song through YouTube or some other source, there is no leader board for that song.
-Sometimes downloaded songs will play as a different songs
-Barricades are placed in bad spots from time to time. Sometimes they are impossible to avoid unless you have the track memorized.
-Visuals can become distracting if your eyes are sensitive to bright colors, flashes, and other such effects.
-Controls are wonky. They just do not feel consistent. Sometimes they respond slow. Sometimes they are too twitchy (Example: pulling out of a drift will slam you into a wall)
-Crate and token hitboxes are not consistent either. Sometimes you can drive right next to them and pick them up, other times they won't get picked up.
-Lack of control customization and not being able to use mouse/gamepad. You cannot change controls. The controls consist of <- -> [spacebar] and CTRL. There was little tutorial too. I was unsure that I could drift until about my 20th race and then i got a tip saying CTRL was to drift.

Overall, considering this is Early access, It is in pretty good shape. There are a few minor things that need to be changed/tweaked/added. But overall, it was worth the money. I would suggest this game to any music lover.

I wouldn't know about the gameplay since I couldn't even play it.

First off, My XBOX 360 controller did not work.
Second, only half of the keyboard controls worked and was unable to reassign keybinds.
Third, I was unable to change resolutions.
Fourth, 50 dollars for a game that half works? Works for some but not for others? Complete scam in my book.

A rather disturbing game. Fun when you have nothing better to do. That's about it though. Basically you have to just make everything "nasty." If you like games that feels like it has been developed by a team of 12 year olds, then I would recommend it, but other than that, stay clear.

All of my dreams have come true with this game. People have told me it was a waste of money, but it wasn't. What's not fun about being able to have a jet pack, baseball pitching machine and being able to Fus Roh Dah. You can even play flappy goat! Several References withint he game if you look for them. Non stop laughs!

Absolutely loved this game. I love the way the weapons feel. The stealth aspect was done right and very few dev teams get that right, Plenty of replay value. I think the only real downside that I found in this game was the grind to get your gear upgraded. Other than that, hours of fun and laughs.

Got rather bored with NV, loved Fallout 3, but just couldn't get into this one.

Looked like a great game so I picked it up, I was rather disappointed. AI is a pain, extremely poor scripting for them. It is visually appealing, and could be fun if the AI wasn't so terrible.

I want to enjoy this game, I really do, but everything feels too clunky. Controls aren't exactly the greatest and getting into the settings menu was tedious. Settings are not easily accessible, nor are they easy to find. Not much for customization either.

Fun and simple side scroller. Gets pretty tough if you don't have the greatest reflexes. It can get rather repetitive though. I'd reccomend it if you like side scroller games. If you are skeptical, catch it on a sale sometime.
