Very solid game. Gameplay is tight, fast, and deadly, there's a wide variety of weapons and biomods with some pretty novel effects.

Levels are open and allow for a very wide degree of experimentation and exploration, with plenty of secrets to find. While the levels lack the density of other imsims like Dishonoured, the levels have a certain flow and manage to be sprawling and complex without becoming overly labyrinthine.

The harshness of the colours and textures do seem jarring at first, and some levels are overly colourful and varied (such as Paradise), but for the most part they seem to mesh well with the rest of the game.

The dialogue and story is topical and satirical. Most video games that try and be funny fail miserably, but Cruelty Squad kind of hits the nail on the head for me. It's like if William Burroughs liked the internet as much as heroin.

The music is amazing and varied, one of my favourite soundtracks of all time. Some tracks are jarring and abrasive in the vein of Boredoms, Merzbow, or other power electronic/noise outfits, while some are garbled dirges with drifting harpsichord or piano melodies a la Oneohtrix Point Never. Some almost seem like parodies of video game music.

Altogether, a tonally consistent and highly competent immersive sim wrapped in a pessimistic techno-delirium bow. I look forwards to seeing what more gets added in the future, but the game as is already seems more or less complete.

There was clearly a serious attempt here to make a game with finely balanced, interlocking systems that would lead to a deep, strategic game that offers plenty of choice. Unfortunately, I just don't find that these systems interact in engaging ways. If the game had cleaner, more extreme systems I could see it acting as such, but as it is, many systems are overbloated and superfluous (I would thus suggest not getting any expansions if you do play this; you don't need them).

Buy this game if you:
-Like fine-tuning and optimising things
-are willing to put a lot of time into a game
-Like variety

Don't buy this game if:
-You want a game of pure strategy
-Want a game that keeps you constantly engaged
-prefer depth over breadth

I didn't like this game, but you might.

Good, but I think the game introduces too much jargon that seems to lean too much on the post-structuralist reading of phenomenology of spirit. A more orthodox marxist approach would have seemed less trite, I feel.

Cool concept, poor (sometimes unreadable) translation makes the game neigh unplayable however.

really fun game for the price. you may not get a ton of playtime but you'll enjoy it, even if you don't like these sorts of games.

(I should reaaly be studying for exams now but whatever)
A classic I probably sank hundreds of hours in on my old 360.

Campaign is good. Not quite as good as the original. Imo, if you've played it once, there's really no need to play it again.

Multiplayer is fundamentally good, but in the present day, I'd avoid public games to to hackers. Not super fun getting killed by a hacker. For playing private games with your freinds, however, it's great, with a wide variety of cool gamemodes to pick from.

Zombies has the best maps and the worst maps in the series.
Tranzit and it's ilk are awful. Defenitley playable but very weak and annoying, espescially solo. (town can be a bit of good clean fun, tho)
Nuketown is a difficult, simple map. Kinda reminds me of Shi No Numa just in it's simplicity level.
Die Rise is mediocre. Cool setting but poor execution results in a boring map with some frustrating aspects.
Buried is pretty alright, easy but has quite a bit of innovation. Another cool setting, this time done well. Good for bad and good players alike.
Mob of the Dead is reaaaaly good. Very well rounded in every way possible. Great innovation, tons of stuff to do without in feeling like a to do list, fun solo and with others, just great.
Origins is also very good, but not quite as good as Mob. While the setting is better (I feel, at least) and the map is very replayable, it's just a tad less amazing than mob. I feel like I'm underselling it; it's still tiead for my second favorite map alongside Der Eisendrache. It also got remastered in BO3 but it's kind of a cakewalk there.

Pretty damn good.
Nice devs, nice art, large amount of gameplay, tons of variety, cool community, etc.
I'd reccomend this to almost anyone.
