Easily one of the best, most cohesive games I've ever played. Difficulty is rewarding (really isn't that bad either), combat is fluid, lore is coooool.

A stellar game, and a fitting conclusion to the BioShock series.

Gorgeous, breathtaking experience. Superb visuals, refreshing combat. This game is worth its original asking price, if on sale don't hesitate to pick it up. (:

This game is a gem. As filled with intrigue as it is timeless, it will definitely have you hooked. Then once you've finished the game, the first time, proceed to get every achievement. :)

TL;DR

Half-Life 2 is one of those classics every game library needs. This game was what defined its generation when it came out in 2004, more than standing the test of time, with its immersive story and colossally well-written, lovable characters. Half-Life 2 is a must have for any game enthusiast.

Summary:

You play Gordon Freeman, ex-Black Mesa physicist who, now under the employ of the G-Man, is inserted into the game's narrative from places unknown. From here, you attempt to deliver mankind from the bonds of servitude the species was forced under by the now-ruling alien force, the Combine.

You play Gordon Freeman, an ex-Black Mesa physicist whom, after the events of the first Half-Life finds himself under the permanent employ of an almost divine, surely extraterrestrial force known only as the G-Man. From places unknown, you are inserted into the game's narrative and must fiercely fight to deliver mankind from the bonds of slavery the species has been forced under by the now ruling alien race, the Combine.

Pros:
  • The game is decently long, anywhere between 8 and 14 hours
  • Great combat and weaponry choice
  • Very immersive story
  • Of course, the characters

    Cons:
    • Outdated source engine, which is truly the only thing that serves to date this beautiful title
    • ?

As stated previously, Half-Life 2 is simply one of those games which is a must. 12/10
