Early Access Review
Gosh, all these people giving negative reviews with such complaints are super boring even after 2 days already:

1) No private server => news just in: it's a bloody MMO! They plan to have 7000 players per shard in the end, it is not your faux-MMO with 128 players. Sure, there are other games with private servers, but they also don't have scae for these many people per world. Or did I miss something?

2) Random fail when crafting => well, if you have low skills and still try to craft the strongest gear in your list of recipes then it's your fault. The lower the difference between skill and product difficulty, the less you will fai. Trivial/Master levels basically never fail (I haven't noticed is so far at least). Don't try to be king of crafters' hill immediately and you will be fine. I like the way it is, because it adds a little risk if you aim higher than your current level, certainly more enjoyable then clicking the button and being sure you succeed. Again: fails happen more often only if push your skills. A fail now and then isn't the end of the world.

3) Desync, stutter, rubberbanding, etc. => I don't even write here more than this: you simply don't understand what EA means. You should never invest money, in anythig, at all.

What keeps me engaged with this game is specifically resource gathering, crafting and the building systems. Combat is weak as others have fairly stated already, but I don't mind, it will get better I'm sure. The world is gorgeous, from moonlit forests to sunny bogs. Nature is beautifully depicted and the sound designn is also nice, especially on highlands and in forests.

The devs made very clear what this game is and what it isn't, and here we are: too many people complaining about things which were communicated already to them.

I think the prices can be disputable, especially considering that the post-launch monthy prices haven't been fixed yet, but I also understand it. EA lasts at least one more year, could be even 2, who knows, development proects being development projects. If there is no sure launch date, I understand the devs/publisher not wanting to commit to a price now, as a lot of tings can happen in a year, not mention more.

My advice: watch a lot of streams of the game, ask around among those who play already and make an informed decision to buy in and support development or not. I consider myself casuall gamer and I play now still solo with the occasional short interactions, and I had much fun in 3 days already than with some AAA ready MMOs before.

Does the game stll have many bugs?
Yes. That is valid criticism.

Does it stop you from having fun with it?
It depends how you define your kind of fun, but for me it is a clear: yes. I especially like the more realistic graphics and the new road building.

Does need more optimzation to have better performance?
Yes.

Does Paradox Mods suck?
No. I used Thuderstore before for mods and now i use Paradox Mods from in-game. Mod creators can provide a lot of info, updating is easy, there are discussions on mod pages with creatores, it's easier for my eyes than Steam Workshop. The fact that mods sometimes do not load at first game launch is still an issue as it seems, but nothing that couldn't be fixed one more timme in another hotfix. Right now we have maps and code mods, assets are coming soon too. That is when modding will really start to flourish.

Is it justified that so many people are basically just mobbing the devs at this stage?
No. The game was released sooner than justified because of the publisher, not the devs. And it's becoming really boring that a lot of people just comment "I want refund", "Steam Workshop when", etc. under any kind of discussion thread for this game. Just get a life, you know who you are.

Is the first DLC worth getting?
YMMV. I like the new assets, but I also got it because I have the ultimate edition. I'd say, if you're someone who is earning a fair salary and you spend $10 for example on a Gin-Tonic on weekends with your friends anyway then yes, get if you plan on building cities next to water. In any other case wait for a sale or asset mods, obviously.

Building mechanic: fantastic.
Story: ok.
Visuals/environments: very good.
Music/sounds: very good.
All the rest: good.

Can't remember the last time I had so much fun in a survival game. What makes this one different is the emphasis on story and quests.

Charming art, plus an interesting and complex story. It has good replayability due to the various possible decisions at important (albeit, at sometimes seemingly unimportant) points in the storyline.

Be prepared to read a lot as there are no spoken dialogs, but it's absolutely worth it. The game really has some Name of the Rose vibes. If you like investigations and connecting the dots based on spoken or seen evidence than you'll like this game.

Never spent 13 hours on a tutorial level (well, "tutorial setup" is more approrpiate here), but then came CK III and dragged me into addiction already at the start.

A very cool, truly Lovercraftian horror story, licence has been used well for this one. Not too long, which is a plus for me where I expect a round story with a beginning and an end (here several possible endings, of course).

What I especially like about the game:
+ Lovecraftian horror themes are well presented
+ managable story length without unnecessary diversions
+ there are many save-points so if you mess up e.g. an escape scenario, you can try again without being forced to re-do a lot of what you've done already
+ not too many escape scenarios and even they are quite easy, except maybe one where I used a walkthrough to get over with asap as I don't like running & stress generally :) (don't want to spoil it though): in this game you will not be lost in a jungle of quick-time actions

What I don't like that much:
- even at "epic" GFX setting the textures are often pixelated and blurry as hell (to be named epic), don't have this problem in other games but there is a statistical chance that it's only my PC though

If you love Lovercraft, oldschool 1920s horror and occulet mysteries and you'd rather experience a great story instead of being forced into more adrenaline rush than necessary for a detective game then by all means you must play this. :)

Very simple, but also very enjoyable game. Perfect for quick games against AI or longer rounds against others via public multiplayer.

Immersive as it can be. Graphics are good enough for me and animations are fluid, I experience no FPS drops in the game. Intrigues, trade, romances and a lot more to come with the constant wave of patches. It's still Early Access as I write this but it's playable fun already. Expect bugs and some missing gameplay loops until launch, but otherwise it's something lovable if your heart beats for the Middle Ages. :)
