For 5 buckeroos you get to spend a good 20 hours ish playing a reasonably decent suvivor-like game that had me hooked for a while. I can definitely see the passion behind the game and it is definitely fun, but it gets stale/repetitive pretty quickly after collecting most characters/items.

In terms of balance, I feel like some stats just have a lot more inherent advantages to build into than others, with physical projectile weapons being very easy to use and build into, while invocation items do not seem to scale that well at all. The starting stats of characters can sometimes feel too arbitrary, or feel like I am being punished too hard for wanting to lean into a different playstyle, without much wiggle room to play more flexibly, which feels like a bummer sometimes. For example, the slime girl character gets 20 movement and 10 invocation power, but punsished with -50 physical and -50 magical power, which either pushes the player into only building invocation (and 10 invocation is really not all that much) or forced them to sink a lot of resources to make up the -50 gap. Some characters have unique skills, like the cyberpunk android character who recieves reverse stats, meaning that buffs become debuffs and vice versa, I am a big fan of these unique hero skills.

The music is very on-point with what you expect from the game, while I do enjoy the soundtrack, it also lacks variety and I am getting a little tired hearing the same music over and over, expanding the soundtrack would honestly be really cool and would make buying the music pack alongside this increase its value too.

Game's a fun time for a few hours, can be a fun little time sink for both longer and shorter runs.

After completing the game 100% and spending some time in new game+ I can say that this is definitely a top 10 game of all time for me. The game's story, interesting take on turn-based combat, characters and aesthetics all come together to create a beautiful experience. This game can be describes as a love letter to Elden Ring, Final Fantasy and JRPG's in general, creating a unique experience that checks off all the boxes. If you don't usually like turn-based RPG's (or if you do) please do not let that stop you from trying out this game, it is worth the shot.

Baldurs Gate 3 is an amazing videogame that puts Dungeons and Dragons in a new jacket. You get a lot of ways to play, the characters and story are compelling and the amount of builds, items and methods at your disposal to solve puzzles and combat are beyond my wildest imaginations. It is definitely a game I would recommend to friends as this has been a game I could sink my entire holiday into with a big smile on my face. The game is refreshing without microtransactions, battle passes or subscription models and overall the perfomance of the game is pretty decent, though the game could use a few patches regarding the last act where I have found quite a few frustrating bugs which was a bit of a bummer.

After reviewing the game with 1750 hours into it I can still say this game sucks
