This game gave me an existentalist crisis. I'm a sentimental person who has online friends that instant messaging has been my only form of contacting people. The AIM inpersonation, with the whole persona of being "away," makes me relive seemingly the biggest metaphorical roadblock I dealt with, having friends who I had never met, and never will meet, being "away," just reaches and scratches at that inaccessability, coupled with the few times that the parties involved are able to converse, a whole ocean growing between them with each passing year.
Even the Death Cab for Cutie lyrics in emily's profile, and for that matter, the song lyrics in everyone's profiles was not only an attribute to that angsty, emo, mid 2000s era, but served as a time capsule.

This game has left me heartbroken. I miss friends that I have yet to speak to for the very last time.
