I finished "Rosewater" today, and I have to say that I really love this game and can recommend it to everyone who likes games with intriguing characters and good stories (or adventure games per se).

Like the previous game "Lamplight City" by Grundislav Games, "Rosewater" is also set in a Victorian setting playing in the 1850s, but the world is slightly different from our world and has a more steampunkian vibe.
"Rosewater" revolves around a Nicolas Tesla-like inventor by the name of Dr. Bennet Clark, who discovered an atmospheric energy source called aethericity. After an accident at a presentation of the powers of aethericity at an expo, all research into it was banned, and Dr. Clark disappeared from the public eye, and it is up to the main character, Harley Leger, a freelance writer who arrives at the settlement of Rosewater at the beginning of the game to start a job writing for a newspaper, and her companions to discover his whereabouts.

The game, like its predecessor, has a beautiful art style, great writing, exceptional voice acting, and a nice score.
While "Lamplight City" plays in the game's world pendant of New York, called New Bretagne, "Rosewater" plays in the barren lands of the western frontiers, with all its oppertunities and problems.
Nevertheless this game is far from being bleak. It really has many well written side stories, many with a positive attitude.
A main part of the game is a road trip to the western coast together with a group of companions, and the game accomplishes it by creating interesting and likable characters that I really cared for.
The puzzles are also fair and logical.
Another great thing that I haven't seen often in adventure games is that you have different ways to approach problems, together with different outcomes and nuances throughout the game, and that there is a random encounter system while traveling westward.
After checking the achievements, I noticed that I still missed much after my first playthrough.

As I said in the beginning, I can really recommend this game, and I'm looking forward to future games playing in the same setting, which gets deeper and richer with every new entry.

Father Twittermas sendeth me to proclaim:
This adventureth game is made out of Renaissance paintings, has a montypythonesque humour and will giveth thou two hours of pure joy.
Great pleasure awaits thou here for a small coin.

One of the most immersive games I've played so far, especially when you play it with headphones.
I didn't try out the story mode yet, but the sandbox gameplay was pretty good for single player suvival game.

If you're searching for a game with a strong Harvest Moon vibe, then this is your game.
It lacks the limitations of the Harvest Moon series. You can build your farm buildings wherever you want, you can plant your crops the way you like.
Try it out, you won't be disappointed.
