Edit: Originally had not recommended this game due to severe issues in matchmaking however, the dev team seems to have been hard at work and this game is truly worth picking up. Buy it, Play it, Spread Managed Democracy.

I've only started playing during Alpha 19 update.. Friends that played a while back told me to avoid this game but I decided to try it for myself. After playing solo for several hours I reached out to a friend of mine who played back in the day and convinced him to try it again. We have spent that last several weeks playing co-op and just yesterday started a community with 4 other players.

This game has it all: leveled crafting of weapons/gear, complex base building/design, well balanced PVE (this game can be brutal if you want it to be a challenge), adventure & exploring, vivid graphics and sound, the list goes on. There is a PvP aspect to the game which I haven't tested.

The game is interesting enough and challenging that at 250+ hours I am still learning the game. The game will give you that occasional jump-in-your-seat moment while you are exploring when you forget to check a corner which is fun and horde night will get your adrenaline pumping when you are defending yourself from swarms of zombies. Play solo or with friends this game is fun all around. Consistent updates from Devs let me know I'll be enjoying this game for a long time!
