As a big rally/driving game fan, I highly recommend. Some people were complaining about the controls on Xbox controller- I use an Xbox one controller and have zero issues.

I think it's important to note that while this game has chill visuals and looks casual, the driving mechanics and gameplay are closer to a more hardcore driving/rally sim - if you are looking for serious driving mechanics you will be happy for sure. If you usually play more arcady driving games I think this would be a great game to pick up to start to get into more hardcore driving games.

I'd pay $200 for me and ten friends to play this, but luckily my friends are also somewhat smart and already bought it

10 hours through my play through so far - people have been complaining about graphics and glitches but honestly have only encountered 2 that I even noticed. One was my character's peen was showing through his pants in the inventory screen (amusing and went away, haven't had it happen again) and another was a mission got stuck in a loop and wouldn't progress, and reloading the save fixed it. Other than that, no crashes or anything, playing on medium settings with raytracing (probs going to experiment with bumping it up to high since it's running so well).

Story wise I think it goes without saying that it's great.
Gameplay wise can't complain - it's a fps rpg so the gunplay isn't as strong as a competitive fps or anything, but it is definitely fun and the abilities/hacking modes are great. Only gameplay drawback for me is the driving, it doesn't feel that natural (used to playing games like forza so I guess that's a high standard) it definitely works for getting to point A to point B, but I wish the driving/car stuff was more fleshed out.

Overall, definitely recommend. If you enjoy GTA or the like you'll love this.

I previously changed this to a negative review as a result of some poor changes made for 1.0.0, but they have all been addressed in hotfixes that came out within a week so I am keeping this review as positive hopefully forever.


Best vehicle construction game out right now. Seriously, dont mess around with the other crap. This has so much depth to it and is already a ton of fun. Get it

This had potential, but the developer in his naivety squandered all of what made the game fun in self-doubt and pity driven rewrites of the game. Stay away

Development Hell

This game is totally wild - The movement systems and gun mechanics are a bit wonky and take some getting used to, but very quickly you will find that Cortex Command's gameplay to be immensely satisfying. The locomotion, once you have messed around with it for a bit, is actually pretty intuitive and well done. Overall, very fun, and with the recent beta addition of local co-op, an easy recommendation.
