Who am I?
An experienced freelance C# desktop analyst-programmer, working remotely part-time. Raised on BASIC, Assembly, C and C++ since 1984, at the age of ten, before working with Delphi for financial and medical companies from 1998 to 2003. Also neuroatypical with mild Asperger's because I was rendered partially deaf and hard of hearing at the age of ten, but the computer has been helping me overcome these challenges since just before that. I mainly like pop, metal, techno and world music. My firsts? Yeti and L'Aigle d'Or on the TO7-70, after a few Game & Watch.

My feedback and attempts to help with games reflect solely my own perspective, as a solo player and passionate coder devoted to computing and software creation in all its forms. I am not affiliated with any studio, hardware manufacturer, collective, or entity, including AI. Some might find it fun to spread fanciful rumors about me: let them, just misleading chatter and empty noise, it doesn't change the facts nor the sincerity of my writings and thoughts.

The word clown originates from the Old English cloyne, a term once used condescendingly by the educated elite to describe peasants or simple folk. That’s how we ended up with the circus clown, an artist who employs semiosis, prosodosis, poetics, and cynicism to expose the misdeeds of those who see themselves as intelligent and superior.

I find this game excellent. In short, it's a gem. Overall, it's a real treat. Thanks for the enjoyment it provides so far. This is an interactive narrative game with horror and action elements, similar for example to Fort Solis, The Quarry, or Alone in the Dark 2024. It is a bit less scripted than The Dark Pictures Anthology series and Quantic Dream's trilogy, though not by much, with a good deal of the spirit of games like Tomb Raider or Industria, among other examples.

The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is efficient and intuitive, the story is engaging, and the pacing is tight while still feeling relaxing. The music is superb and very fitting. The rendering of the Antarctic atmosphere is absolutely fantastic, both visually and in terms of sound design. This really makes you feel like you're there, and the plot is well constructed. Even though the game takes place in a base within a gloomy universe, it is not claustrophobic at all, and the environments are well-designed architecturally, making it easy to find your way around even without a map.

If one enjoys stealth-oriented gameplay, dark and oppressive atmospheres, and the mystery of an unexplained event, realistic despite its fantastical elements, and without bling or fireworks, this is a very good game. Regarding the difficulty, while the prologue and chapter one are easy, it starts to get tougher in chapter two, due to the limited amount of ammunition and the checkpoint system. But replaying sections, like mastering levels in Pac-Man and Donkey Kong, is a real satisfaction here.

I did not encounter any major bugs on a Ryzen 5800X with a RX6600, and everything works very well overall. However, there is an issue with the space bar to jump when using an AZERTY keyboard layout on my Windows 11 25H2: it barely works, or not at all in fact, which is blocking. Fortunately, switching temporarily to QWERTY allows the game to be played while waiting for a fix.
