The Mazda Lantis, sold in Japan from 1993 to 1998, was a compact sports hatchback also known internationally as the Mazda 323F, Astina, Allegro Hatchback, or Artis. Built on Mazda’s CB platform, it featured a front-engine, front-wheel-drive layout with a 5-speed manual or 4-speed automatic transmission. Marketed as a “4-door coupé,” it was essentially a sleek 5-door hatchback, designated BA in Europe. The European 323F was designed by Arnold “Ginger” Ostle, a former Porsche designer who worked on the Porsche 944, which influenced the car’s styling. Weighing around 1,210 kg, it was offered with 1.5L, 1.6L, and 1.8L DOHC inline-four engines, with an optional 2.0L V6. Standard features included four-wheel disc brakes, independent suspension, frameless windows, and a well-equipped interior, making it a distinctive and well-engineered 1990s Mazda.

The Renault Twingo is a city car made by the French company Renault since 1992 to 2024 across three generations. The name is a portmanteau of twist, swing, and tango.

The first-generation Twingo (two door, front engine) debuted at the Paris Motor Show on 5 October 1992, receiving its formal market launch in continental European markets beginning in April 1993. Renault launched the second-generation Twingo (two door, front engine) in the summer of 2007 – and the third-generation Twingo (four door, rear engine) debuted at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, receiving its formal market launch in September 2014. Production of the Twingo ended in the summer of 2024, to be replaced by the upcoming, all-electric Renault Twingo E-Tech.
