So you know Dangan Rompa or 999 and want to dig deeper into Spike Chunsofts catalog and you find this.

428 Shibuya Scramble is a mixed bag. 10/10 story, but 5/10 for everything else.
There's also potential issuses for streamers since an Aya Kamiki song is played at various times throughout the game, And there are no audio controls. None. Zero.,
So while the story is very good, the port and UI are very poor.
The game is like a visual novel, but uses 2-4 option points to create branches and alter the story. How these switches are set let you progress or reach a "Bad End".

Playing this game is pretty slow. text moves slowly and can't really be sped up The play is clunky and really contrasts with later VN like games that are much improved.

Though there are various means to kind of help - you can move forward through text youve already seen to reach tips or Jumps in the text. But if another choice on a path affects your text, you can't skip ahead.
Also ayour Bad End list can only be accessed from the F1 menu while in a scene. It's not available from the main menu, the time line menu or anything else.

There's a real mixed bag to this game. The island is interesting, full of little nooks and crannies, and if you're brave/stubborn enough, almost fully explorable from the start. The plot isn't the greatest writing, but it is a neat concept and generally good.

Mechanics are where this game really is bad. Quests are tracked poorly, clipping/jumping/falling is a jank mess. Combat is poorly suited for PC (I assume is was ported) poorly explained, is a slog to deal with and feels awkward - f not terrible. Levelling and character growth is hard to measure and the impacts seem hard to recognize.

I can see why others like this game, but the terrible, unfun and continual need for combat really made me dislike playing this game.

To be fair, the FEAR series is not for me. That said, this is the worst of the three. Where the first one had ideas and played well, and the second one had much of that unique and careful work sanded down to something more, but not quite generic, this installment loses it soul from the very first time you run it.

The moody, spooky atmosphere that never quite spoke to me is gone. All pretense of horror is gone. This game is a reboot pretending to be a sequel. It's a cover shooter, it drops your weapons down to two on hand, You rank up instead of finding out of the way boosters, Whole new types of "magic" enemies are dropped into a story that wasn't too fantastical.

The greatest fear I have is picking this title back up.

The weakest of the Fallout single player series.
Aside from a graphics update, this game slides even more than Fallout 3.

The game has a very weak main plot, with a twist you can predict from the very start and a climax that never happens, building to a 2nd act that fizzles. The UI and engine changes vary from annoying to frustrating to maddening. Gone are traits and skills, to be completely replaced by perks, stats can be increased by leveling up. Weapon damage depends on what perks you take, making switching weapon types even harder to do. Dialogue and conversations can be missed or interrupted by moving away from the person talking too fast, and your dialogue choices are all basically Mass Effect style, with only a vague idea of what your mood for the reply is, not the actual words spoken as was in the previous Fallout games.

Weapons are meh, being so dependent on your perks and what "unique" weapons drop. Some are obviously much better and stronger. A gun that shoots two bullets for the price of one is a very easy choice to make, except I never saw any energy or large weapons with that ability. And as enemies become bullet sponges you can dump lots of ammo into them without much effect. Sniping becomes pointless when a headshot, or series of headshots can't kill an enemy and even with a suppressor alerts enemies. Possibly melee is better. Foes also move constantly and erratically as such speed ADS is practically useless if you can't snap shot everything.

The overhaul to the armor system is perhaps the most frequently dealt with annoyance. Gone is an amour set. instead armor is per area, 6 in total. Not terrible as an idea, mix-and-match armor fits the wasteland theme and being able to adjust what you use and how you look all seem like they should be positives. unfortunately is just makes changing and swapping armor worse. When mods run so long you can't see if that's a left arm or a left leg you're looking to loot is minor, having to switch up to 6, and carry 6+ pieces of armor clutters the inventory. What can and can't be worn with armor is unclear. Also it looks bad on the character models. Having armor be a "suit" keeps inventory less cluttered, makes comparisons simple, and can look better.

Many uniques were on leather and metal armor which is easily outclassed early in the game, and a +1 stat increase or small perk does little to offset the weakness of the armor itself. Perhaps that is why the Power armor suits allow for normal armor to remain equipped.

As a counterpoint, I think having power armor as separate parts works well. Power armor does use fuel, but you can pretty much run around most of the game with it on if you choose. It doesn't feel as powerful as it was in previous games, or a special when random raiders wear it often. I stopped playing FO4 with enough suits to have a suit for every paint job, with a few left over and partial sets of unique power armor pieces.

Settlements are a large time sink (especially getting Benevolent leader in my experience) and while they have pretty much no impact on the game, I thought were fun to personalize and grow. They are inconsistent in size and usefulness, and some make little sense. Some are large, such as Sanctuary, while others are little more than a couple of half destroyed buildings.

Ok, so why do I reccommend this?
-Side quests have some fun, unique and interesting plots and things to do.
-The world is fun to explore and run around in. And the game has quests that are specifically made for you to explore the -map.
-The add-ons do add more fun content if you decide to get those.
- If you haven't played Fallout it's not a bad choice to begin with. (I would say there are better)
-It can have a New Vegas like "sequel" that solves a lot of the plot and quest problems. (The Nuclear Winter mod looks like it could be fun)

So this isn't a bad gane. It's "MEH"
This isn't a game type that has a lot of depth.
It looks ok, plays ok and runs ok.

The two biggest flaws are the lack of variety of the weapons and ships,
and the monotony of the play. All the ships are the same except for the sprites and numbers.
The weapons are all pretty same too. And with only 4 in the game, their differences feel trivial.

The boss fights are good, and each is different. But all the other levels are alike.
There's new aliens to blow up between asteroids to destroy.

There's a story plot too, but I missed most of it and still figured it out.

Early Access Review
This game plays like someone's CS project that's been translated from Russian to English by machine.
The only redeeming feature is that the achievements are easy to get.
The other reviews cover why this "game" is bad. But really, go spend your time and money elsewhere.

Why do I have so much play time? I left it open to idle for the cards while i slept and went to work.

You've probably heard everyone rave about the game.
They're right: Undertale is great. The writing is well done, the combat is interesting, the characters are interesting. The music is *great*!

It's best played without any more said, the more you know about this game I feel will ruin the enjoyment and discovery.
It's not a very long game, which is really a point in it's favor - since it doesn't seem short.
