Barotrauma is a underwater co-op drowning simulator in a submarine that is on one of jupiters moons, Euorpa. It's great to play with friends to mess around doing missions on this cold planet, Europa. The gameplay consists of playing missions to get further to the core of Europa, although the ending has not been finished as of writing.

The game also has in depth editors for : Submarines, Monsters/Animals, Terrain generation (although not really shown much). It also features a in depth wiring system, it is also not just locked to the submarine editor. You can change what the wires on the submarine are connected to on the go.

When barotrauma is the most fun is when (depends entierly on what type of person you are) everything has gone to absolute ♥♥♥♥. When it is chaos everywhere, when mechanics and engineers frantically try to patch the holes in the ship trying not to sink when monsters are scraping across the hull and when a clown blows up the oxygen generator and the entire crew decides to ban them.

The game is also being consistantly updated with new features and mechanics, and if the vanilla game ever gets stale, there is also the Steam Workshop full of amazing mods and items.

Mod recomendations :
Thalassophobia, Adds many items and machines.

Into the abyss, The most expansive mod i have seen for this game. It adds :
Difficulty changes
New Outposts, Drycaves
New Items and Mechanics
Beacon Overhaul.
Personal Money System (Seperate from the Crew balance.)

In conclusion, Barotrauma is a good underwater submarine game for groups of friends or just to play with randoms on public servers, the servers quality varies between an actual good crew that completes goals or to clowns injecting you with husk eggs. The game also gets updates nearly constantly and suprisingly fast.
