Age has made this game slightly less unique than it was when it released a decade ago, but the story still stands as one of the better written in the industry. Memorable characters, a weird but captivating plot, best in industry music, and a depressing yet hopeful tone make this game absolutely worth playing. For old fans there's a few new bits and pieces as well, but probably not enough to justify the game at full price unless you really want to play it again. For Automata fans, this game is much more focused on subverting standard video game storytelling than the hard focus on its themes that Automata took, but still has that wacky Yoko Taro touch to make it entertaining, but a bit more tedious to get all the way through. The music is better in this game though... fight me.

As for gameplay the combat is fun but a step down from Automata. Side quests can be tedious but make up a large portion of my play time, with most of them being fetch quests with varying degrees of grind required for the materials. Most people probably aren't here for the gameplay alone however, but some of the tedious parts are definitely worth pointing out. Especially that stupid ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ flower... I'm never doing that again.

Short and sweet. Starts out fairly lighthearted for a war game, which the game even somewhat makes a nod to. Eventually the game hits you like a truck, and the horrors of war come flooding in. The gameplay itself is a fairly simple puzzle game so this is mainly for the story crowd, but its definitely one worth playing for the journey the characters go through.

As someone who doesn't like fighting games, this is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ incredible fighting game.
