TL;DR - Do not buy this game, wait for a sale if you have to play the game, and actively monitor the player count via SteamDB.

Pros:
- Gun sounds are base-y and feel impactful.
- Level design isn't terrible, futuristic aesthetic is something I wasn't expecting Killing Floor to pursue but here we are.
- Blood, gore and dismemberment of enemies is top notch for a Killing Floor title, and there is no shortage of blood in the game.

Cons:
- Constant 200-300ms, messing with the dodge, gunplay and melee mechanics.
- Character/Specialist flavour/voicelines are awful and I want to turn them off.
- There is a distinct lack of stats and inspection of weapon passives in the store. I understand crafting is a major component of the game, however, not being able to see what exactly specific attachments do is frustrating and I feel like I am blind purchasing weapons... which leads me to my next point.
- Weapon stat BARS instead of NUMBERS. It is 2025, DO NOT give me stat bars with no way of exactly knowing how much I am altering stats of weapons with attachments and upgrades.

Overall:
MY MAIN ISSUE is that for me (which could be region orientated as I am from Australia), is that I feel like I am playing on a constant 240-300ms. All players are seemingly dumped into the same queuing pools with no possible way to restrict matchmaking ping or queue for nearby players, which actively affects the flow of the game for me, making it annoying to play and I can't look past it. I dodge attacks, just to get hit because I am seemingly lagging behind, even if I preemptively dodge in an attempt to offset this delay.

The game feels incredibly unfinished, whilst simultaneously having a battle-pass and micro-transactions tacked on to generate as much revenue as possible from the die-hard Killing Floor fanbase from what I can assume. I feel like the overall vision and branding of "Killing Floor" has completely changed as of this release. If you had named this game differently under a separate name I wouldn't have even realised that it was meant to be a Killing Floor title. It strikes me as something akin to Evolve or Back 4 Blood.

I am refunding this game but will be watching to see how the game progresses, if at all, and whether or not it retains it's playerbase.

Man, what to even say.

Deltarune is an exceptionally good game and I never thought that Toby could recapture what made Undertale so fun and enjoyable in the first place again, but here we are.

I never installed Chapter 1 or 2 originally but decided to pull the trigger when 3 and 4 were released and wow, I was not disappointed.

Chapter 3 is such a standout amazing experience to have played through blind and Chapter 4 was so emotionally raw that I was captivated from room to room.

Now I just have to wait for the rest of the chapters...

Game was pretty okay with a neat premise for the first half of the game. It quickly becomes a drag and you realise that the conversations are puddle deep and that the endings are just as deep.

I would be livid if I picked this game up for full price. You will only get 6 hours of playtime out of this, left feeling frustrated thinking "I wonder what the other ending is" before YouTubing it instead of playing through the whole game again because the gimmick has worn thin and you can't be arsed.

The game is quite awful.

F2P but there is a $30USD (currently $45AUD) paywall to actually feel human in the game and not be restricted to just one class and be eligible to sell items on the in-game market.

The PVP is horrendously unbalanced and the Gear Score scaling exists to only protect you if you just died. If your team gear score rises above 25 you are thrown into the deep end to be feasted on by people who have managed to survive long enough to collect half decent gear.

The PVP skill curve is there, but you still feel like you're playing something janky like Legacy Rust.

The game has not realistically changed since closed alpha which I played extensively during Ironmace's lawsuit era aside from the addition of 2 classes and some stability improvements. It really does just feel like an asset flip which is designed to extract as many microtransaction purchases as possible from players for possibly bought assets on emotes, character races which provide in-game buffs and other garbage.

Your money can be spent better elsewhere, the game is only good to play with others or as a brainless time sink.

An interesting premise but terribly executed. Game has no Oceanic servers so if you're outside of North America, Europe or Asia, best of luck. The gunplay feels contrived and is unrewarding. The multiple movement options in the game make it feel like its trying to be a movement shooter but when you actually successfully chain movement options together they feel terrible, sluggish and slower than just holding W... Skip.

Fantastic game with friends. Mod support is also great as well. If the game doesn't get content, it will die. I love the company.

A huge disappointment compared to PAYDAY 2.

I played PAYDAY 2 at launch and it functioned 10x better and had more features than what PAYDAY 3 has and it was developed in the Diesel engine of all things.

Theres no crime.net, meaning that you feel less like you're actually in the world of the game looking for other heisters and you have to queue for each specific mission and pray that theres other people queuing the same mission as you as well as difficulty to get a game as it is also always online.

There is absolutely no incentive to 100% a mission as in-game EXP isn't tied to how well you perform anymore, meaning you're actively hampering your own experience by spending time collecting all bags in a heist unless you are so strapped for cash on purchasing something which can't be the case, as there isn't that much to purchase to begin with. Even cash is pointless in a bank robbing game.

Some of my fondest memories of PAYDAY 2 was grinding cash and EXP to afford Infamy tier masks and playing each new DLC and character as they came out. Jacket's release was a personal favourite as Hotline Miami 2 was banned in Australia at the time so I had to email Starbreeze and got a response from Almir so it felt like they actually cared.

Fast forward to now and its impressive how badly they have handled this game considering it should've been a slam dunk after 10 years since the release of PAYDAY 2 and the marketing was done quite well.

I guess my $60AUD got heisted in the end, well played PAYDAY gang.

*EDIT 22/09/23 14:59: Servers have been down for around 10 hours now on release day and there is no way to play the game due to the always online feature, requiring you to connect to Starbreeze's server in order to play. This game deserves the backlash it is receiving.

I pre-ordered this game in late 2015 for Xbox One, played to see every hero release, experienced all metas from beyblade to Goats which ruined OW1 and even lead to band-aid heroes like Baptiste being created. I made the jump to PC in 2017, I hit Masters and realised that the game was steadily declining. I kept playing even after the content drought after Echos release where updates were just recolours and barely interesting skins with the same old events recycled for 3 years.

I pre-ordered Overwatch 2 against my better judgement. I tuned into dev streams, built my own hype and thought "Wow, Blizzard is really picking the flag back up and running with it for a better tomorrow."

I couldn't have been more misled.

Overwatch 2 is designed to extract as much playtime with as little gain out of it as possible while boosting profits. They gutted their original game to push almost Korean MMO levels of Microtransactions all neatly packed as best you could into an FPS shooter.

I miss Overwatch (2016), and I miss lootboxes.

Edit, 2025:

It's never been more over. They re-release and promise already once existing Lootboxes but in an even more egregiously predatory manner and are misleading players that "Lootboxes are returning!"

This game is a shallow husk of it's previous self and my review from 2 years ago still rings true.

The Stadium gamemode will just further dilute the player base into yet another gameplay queue and perks is just reconstituted PvE development time and updates grinded up and spat back out into the PvP multiplayer.

What happened to you Overwatch.

What a step in the wrong direction and a blatant lie to fans. This was the lily on top of the coffin for the Battlefield franchise. How can you market something, so perfectly, so incredibly enticing with all the promises fans have literally been asking for, since BF3. The stars looked like they aligned, but we've been handed ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. They've removed countless features from other Battlefield games, they've put in these absolutely atrocious "specialists" who's personality is equal to a muddy puddle.

In 2018 DICE coined a phrase which caused massive backlash in the community; "Everyone's Battlefield."

Well mine ended in 2015 when they stopped support for BF4.

- a BF2 player.
