Early Access Review
Simply put, this has become my favourite game to play.
I highly, highly recommend this game. The premise is great (board an abandoned ship where something has gone horrendously wrong) and the high attention to detail on everything, from the gameplay, to the graphics, the design of the in-game tech, the sounds, the music, the animations, all just pushes this game into an atmospheric experience that is something truly special. This is a game that's fun whether you're just hopping on for a quick 1 or 2 missions or if you want to play for a long session for several hours. The action and the immersion both make for a damn good time.

Longer Review:
It's a great combo of sci-fi horror and action (somewhat like the original Alien and Aliens combined).
The game asks you to use your brain a little bit, at the start, which I love. Learning the map, what to look for, what you need to do (some door puzzles, so to speak), and how to handle the specific threats, makes the early game exploration and discovery feel rewarding. And the upgrades you unlock along the way, combined with your understanding of the mechanics, make progression a very real thing.
And this is still just early access. And they are proving that they are continuing to do excellent work on the game - sticking to their roadmap and adding quality little updates in-between the larger milestones.
Right now, you have 4 different types of missions, all while one of several unknown, and deadly, species will be there to hunt you down- Data Extraction (locate and retrieve a black box, survive, and bring it back to your ship), Destroy The Area (set the self destruction and blow up the monster with the ship and all the data - "It's the only way to be sure"), Kill The Specimen (learn the weaknesses of the specimen on the ship, find the Tier 3 weapon(s) that will help you, and slay the monster), and Capture The Specimen (similar to the Kill mission, but this time you're capturing it alive to bring back on your ship - you need the capture cell ship upgrade to run these missions).
Earn in-game money to afford personal upgrades, equipment + upgrades, Tier 1 weapon options and upgrades, as well as upgrades for your own spaceship/shuttle.

The graphics, designs, layouts, animations, sounds, and music are all superbly detailed and very cinematic.
This is how games should be designed and you just love to see it.
And, while the game is Early Access - only $10? I grabbed the supporter pack for another ~$10 just to give the team some well deserved extra funds and support.
I played the demo before the EA release and was sold on it. My only hesitation was, it being early access, with "only" one map and 5 enemy species. I thought the game might only be good for a small window of time, until they add more maps and specimens. However, I was wrong - because the one map is so expansive, the missions and action so open for chaos and differences, and the specimens are varied enough, that I haven't gotten tired of it after well over 100 hours.
Conservatively, I'd say this state of the game provides more than 25 hours of fun. But, if you're anything like my friends and I (and many others I've met through their discord community), the fun is pretty much endless. And only getting better, with each update from the devs.

But that's just my opinion. Go ahead and spend the money, then you can come here and yell at me if you think I was wrong.

Thanks for surprising me with a fantastic game, WannaDevStudio!

Early Access Review
In my opinion, this game is great. Just having played it at the launch of early access, they have done so much right. And they have done it very well.
If you're just checking reviews to see whether this is a disappointingly janky early access game to wait for improvement, versus one that is worth buying and playing - Forewarned is worth getting. It is a quality game, playing smoothly, well designed - with fantastic detail to atmosphere and lore as well.
I only learned about Forewarned a week before it's release. When I saw the overall premise, of exploring ancient Egyptian tombs combined with paranormal detective work, I knew it COULD be a good one. And it truly is.

Forewarned is scary, dark, intriguing, and very rewarding.
Even in death, there are fun game mechanics and options for the player.
The base of this game seems so well designed and fun to play. Definitely read through the tutorial so you understand what you are supposed to be doing. Although, you can still get a horror tour within ancient tombs if you do not, but you're unlikely to grasp the full depth of what is needed to be done to gain treasures, knowledge, and - let alone - to survive.

I also want to say that the level of detail and depth of lore in the lobby, alone, was a great indication that this is a game developer that truly cares for this game and has a passion for what they are creating. And the fact that a lot of the game is procedurally generated makes me think that more interesting elements can be added to continue to expand and enrich an already fantastic game.

Thank you for the great game! I am looking forward to collecting all the relics and artifacts that I can, and having many more gasps of horror, screams, laughs, and moments of triumph throughout these archaeological adventures!
