I really hope everyone gets to experience this game with another player. It's... something I don't think I'll forget anytime soon. The gameplay is intuitive such that it... naturally encourages companionship? Even the glyphs in one of the later cutscenes reacts to your companion, showing different stages where the player icons change depending on if you completed that stage alone or with a companion (mild midgame spoilers). It's really incredible what this game accomplishes in the little time it takes to complete (2h at most).

On that note, if you try this, make sure you have the time cleared such that if you do meet a companion, you can complete the game alongside them and not have to leave early, completing a majority of the game with the same companion really has the most impact.

As one of the other reviews mentions, some of the best video games can be seen as art. As I've gotten older, these are the kinds of games I've generally gravitated towards... And in the sense of games as art, this certainly stands among the best of them.

Super well polished game. The story and world feels massive, every action and shot feels like it has an impact, and there's so much mystique in every little detail, it's hard to describe. Also the first time the ending of a game has ever felt "less lonely" than before playing it.

One of those games I wish I could forget, just to be able to experience it for the first time again.

Plenty of content and secrets to dig for, 40hrs gets mostly (though not 100%) completion.

Hard to say anything that isn't already mentioned in all the other reviews... FANTASTIC art style and sound design, thought provoking story, puzzles that often make you feel accomplished, a mildly tedious limited inventory (which as of today 11/3/22 I heard the devs are looking into some way to improve the accessibility of this). Can't stop thinking about it after completing it, had to pile on to the positive reviews.

Keep your promise, do whatever it takes.

Mining caves and blowing up bugs! The variety in cave generation is the most easily overlooked part of this, done just right that each mission is different, but still cohesive and navigable.
