SECRET WORD: GOBLET

After playing through The Test Trilogy, I was surprised to see humor take a backseat for this game. I think it was the right choice in the end because there was nothing to distract from or alleviate the questions I was answering. And the increased focus on atmosphere, despite being a little tacky at times, helped immerse me. Maybe it was because I played the other Test games beforehand, but this RPG felt more like reexamining or reflecting on something I recently learned about myself. The progression mechanics, while somewhat repetitive, made me hesitate on whether if knocking on a barrel or holding onto a noose was the correct way to continue, which is a compliment! And the questions were deliciously uncomfortable and thought-provoking as always. If you like thinking to yourself in the dark, you'll like this game.

This was a fun and short play. There's definitely some jumpscares but the hidden story and gameplay work really well, and there's a few extra modes and community maps after finishing the game. Only thing that'd make it better would be to make it less scary so I have less nightmare next time but overall its a solid game.

Dying Light is one of the best games I've ever played. Its seamless combination with combat and parkour makes gameplay that you can't get anywhere else, AND you have zombies as well! This game can be a first-person-shooter, parkour simulator, and hack-and-slash zombie gorefest. The only thing that may have been improved is the story, but even that is a minor thing compared to the scope of everything the game nails down. I'd highly recommend this game for anyone, it really is that good.
