It never dawned on me that what I was smelling, was in fact particles of the bacon released into the air, which I was absorbing through my nasal cavities. Moreover, my smelling the bacon may have triggered an insulin response (because my body thought that I might be getting ready to eat), trapping my fat in the fat stores, and forcing my body to use glucose instead, to fuel my brain cells.
So I've spent the last hour on google, pubmed, etc, trying to understand how many bacon calories I might have absorbed through my nose, and how this may / may not have affected my fast, or interfered with the autophagy.
I'm so confused, can anyone help?
