DEMO REVIEW ONLY
I am intrigued.
The idea of surviving on a cargo ship stocked with shipping containers is an interesting spin on the classic survival game.
There are recipes to find, items & weapons to craft, food, water, and sleep to manage, enemies (human and not) to fight, and... a room of mushrooms? I will leave it at that for now.
As this is a review of the demo please keep in mind there are limitations, and bugs. Areas you can't yet explore, some UI misfunction when trying to interact w/ things, recipes folders don't disappear after you use them, other folders that hang in midair. Easy fixes when the game eventually comes out.

I'm looking forward to the finished product.

My husband described this game as "a mix of Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, with a dash of Final Fantasy" and I think that sums it up pretty well. For fans of the 3ds Fantasy Life you will NOT be disappointed! They made changing Lives easier, but otherwise stuck to the great aspects of being able to choose any/every life available. AND THEY ADDED NEW LIFE OPTIONS!

For anyone who's considering this game but is NOT familiar with the first one on 3ds, here is what you can expect.
-Combat, gathering, crafting
-Story, quests, and side quests
-Multiplayer shenanigans (be patient, it takes some time to unlock multiplayer)
-Emotional moments, with plenty of comedic relief.
-A good time

I highly recommend. Happy I got the Delux version to play it early.

While I won't claim that Avowed brings anything new or wowing to the genre, it's still a good game. The graphics are beautiful, the game-play and combat are fun, the story is engaging, and your choices feel impactful (at least at the individual quest level so far. Not sure I'm far enough in the game to see any major changes to the "world" based on my choices). All in all, I hella enjoy it and if you like open-world RPGs you will probably enjoy Avowed. =D

Easy to get sucked into, but also easy to pause and step away from when you need to. Cute art style, neat mechanics, good spin on the farming sim genre. Very much enjoying it so far!

Note: I got the base game for free but purchased one of the DLC packs already.

I received this game as a gift from my husband and I love it!
The lofi beats are soothing, the sound options are lovely, and the spirits are adorable!
I do hope they add some things in the future like: new decor, more clothing options, and additional activities.
Possible additions? playing on a handheld game system, playing an instrument, coloring, a jigsaw puzzle on the desk, just enjoying a steaming mug of tea/coffee, yoga
Decor: armchairs in place of the bean bag (not that I don't love the bean bag!), different styles of desk chair, a yoga mat instead of the rug, etc

All in all though, I like this game just the way it is and will likely use it as a journaling and homework assistant. =D

Personally, I'm LOVING Starfield. I've been a fan of Bethesda games since ES Morrowind, and this game doesn't disappoint in that regard.

PROS:
-spaceship battles
-exploring on-world and off-world
-LOTS of planets, moons, solar systems, etc to explore
-100% completion of planet/moon survey earns you credit (some planets are harder to complete than others but the rewards are more lucrative for those)
-variety of weapon types including non-lethal EM guns
-simple but effective tutorials
-LOTS of quests and side quests
-skill points have a ranking system with clear goals to rank up (that involving actually USING that skill, not some arbitrary challenge)
-like other Bethesda titles you can play in 1st or 3rd person (2 different 3rd person zoom options, too)

CONS:
-POIs get repetitive
-the amount of options can get overwhelming and/or distracting
-I would love to see a cosmetic slot so I can get the benefits of ugly armor but the joys of fashion that's to my liking
-like other popular Bethesda titles, finding a vendor with enough $ to buy all your crap can be a struggle

All-in-all, I'm addicted to this game.

This game is definitely awesome. Combat, farming, mining, fishing, romancing, and all the things you love about farming-sim type games. HOWEVER, here are some of the differences:
-NO STAMINA: do what you want all everyday
-Jobs/Classes: gets buffs related to the job/class you choose at the start of the game
-Races: not only good for appearances, each race gives you a different buff
-Dragons: I mean, 'cmon, who doesn't like dragons?!

My perspective: I've NEVER played a Warhammer game outside of Vermintide. I know NOTHING about the lore or the universe that I didn't learn from VT. However, I'm digging this game to the point I bought Warhammer 40k Inquisitor-Martyr (it was a mega sale price so totes worth it).

I like the fact that you can make your own character, though I'm hoping for better customization options in the future. The voice options are pretty awesome and it tickles me that my sister and I can both play a Veteran and have completely different voice lines. So far I'm diggin the variety of weapons, though I do miss the VT option of crafting your own. Hoping for some mod management in the future.

There are some bugs, like random disconnects from the servers both in and out of missions. The load times are a lot longer than I want them to be. But those things have not yet stopped me from spending time and money on this game. Lots of potential here, really looking forward to what the developers are going to do with it. =)

Early Access Review
10/10, would buy again. Good variety of maps, skills/weapons, characters, enemies (didn't realize THAT was important until I tried some other games in this category). No microtransactions or paywalls.

Did/do you like Left 4 Dead? Multiplayer co-op? Shooting zombies? This game is for you. This is NOT a battle royale game, or a pvp-heavy game. However, there also aren't any pain-in-the-ass microtransactions.
Plus, the first expansion so far - "Tunnels of Terror" is IMPRESSIVE. "Why? There wasn't any added story."
I'm glad you asked. They added things to the EXISTING levels, to add to the replay value! PLUS, the addition of new weapons, armor (which didn't exist in vanilla), and characters is FANTASTIC! Must-play for people who want a multi-player co-op game.
