Early Access Review
This game is a fantastic and hilarious innovation on the Lethal-like formula, and has a lot of polish that feels great and indicates the developers really understand what makes this formula so captivating. I've played a handful of different lethal-likes and this one stands out. If some co-op horror chaos is your jam, please give this a try!

Please substitute the following egg puns below: Eggcelent, elEggant, Eggsecute, intellEggent, Eggsperience, Eggspressive

Fowl Damage makes an elegant puzzle-platformer experience out of a mechanic we've taken for granted: jumping. This is executed intuitively and was a breeze to pick up and start playing. An eggs breaks when it falls? Naturally. That's Humpty Dumpty. Additional systems are added intelligently and deepen the experience in interesting ways, and make for novel surprises as you progress. Like a great puzzle game should have! Water breaks your fall? Just like in real life!

The pixel art is excellent and creates environments that look interesting and have subtle details that hint at an underlying theme. The developer also makes excellent use of background/foreground elements that help you stay focused on the gameplay when its needed, and the colour palette feels cohesive. The egg is also cute and expressive and I needed to protect him!

The music was varied, interesting, and designed to support the experience, rather than feeling tacked on. There are some solid tracks in there, and the use of silence and subtle ambiance serves the game well.

All this being said, this developer uses these aspects to maintain a cohesive vision for an excellent puzzle platformer. Do yourself a favour and give it a try!

I enjoyed playing through this story-driven 3rd person shooter! It was certainly a well built fun action experience that felt elegantly designed with decent synergy between gameplay and plot. The gameplay was pretty familiar, having played Max Payne in my youth.

I wasn't blown away by the premise or writing but still found it engaging. It could be the case that it's a 2010 game, so much of its novelty might have worn off over the years. And in that case, even more kudos for it still being fun and interesting today.

Early Access Review
This is a real gem of a game, tying in immediately familiar and nostalgic city building aspects from Anno, Banished, and Pharaoh/Zeus, and then weaves it all into a multiplayer experience with inspiration from the Civilization series. My friends and I have started a handful of games over the past few months with 3-8 players, the farthest making it about a third way through the tech tree. We haven't been disappointed with the game stability in online play, and am impressed with how the performance is holding up as we approach the end-game. There's a novelty to sharing strategies with your friends as you progress, and helping each other iron out issues in your logistical networks.

We're enamored with the early game, which has a delightful progression that self-balances itself so it's always challenging: Increase population, increase production, plan new industries, layout new suburbs, and more.

As you progress through the tech tree, you unlock exciting new technologies that allow you to further optimize your unique city and industries. We haven't even made it to the final age, yet still continue to be impressed with the techs unlocked throughout the game.

There's always room for improvement, so we look forward to some quality of life improvements and additional factions added in future updates, but for an Early Access game this is an incredibly compelling game.

Good game, recommend.

Coming into this from playing games with typical hand-holding quest systems seen in MMOs and various AAA titles, this game is a breath of fresh air. Your curiosity is your guide, and it works incredibly well thanks to thoughtful and effective game design. This game does away with distracting side-systems seen bloating many other titles, letting it focus on an incredibly pure and rewarding gameplay experience I haven't found elsewhere.

When I wasn't playing this game, I was still thinking about what thread I was going to explore next.

Having played it with various groups at work and outside it, I've found Overcooked requires players able to genuinely laugh and both their own mistakes and their co-players, to playfully berate each other without offense, and to find humor in the chaotic spectacle that all that arises from and is a part of.

As in, you got to be in a specific mindset with a specific kind of relationship with your other players.

It makes perfect sense to me that its not gonna jive with everyone.

But when it does work, its been some of the most fun I've had playing games.

I REALLY like this game. I am a big city-builder nerd, and I LOVE seeing fresh takes on the genre hit the market. I've also been reading H.P. Lovecraft stories lately, so the events in this game are very topical for me.

While this game could use more polish, they've spent a lot of time tweaking gameplay to make for a fun experience for their players and it shows. If you check out their dev blog, you can read up on their thought process regarding all the changes they've made. I'm quite impressed and enjoy reading them!

If you're a fan of the city-building genre, I highly recommend you give this game a shot. It's a great addition.

My colony was going great. I almost had a barber shop! Then a recently formed cult decided it should summon unspeakable eldritch horrors during breakfast! Now everyone is either dead or crippled with fear.

10/10 would have breakfast ruined again.
