Incredible little game, its runtime can't do justice to how full of things it is. Eerie, yet heartwarming, with an amazing world that shows just enough to pique your curiosity. The cherry on top is that the soundtrack and art are just as great as all the rest. I can only thank tangomushi for posting about Poco. It really deserves all the attention it can get.

In Buffet Knight you play as the titular character on a journey to bring back stolen ingredients to Gourmet Town. It's a top down adventure game with kirby-like powers, inhaling, shooting and swallowing. The combat is more puzzle than action and I really enjoyed playing it. The music sounds great and the "canon" ending is amazing. As a short free game this is definitely worth giving a shot.

Distraint follows the story of Price as he completes the seizure of three properties in hopes of securing a partnership in a company. I had already heard about Distraint and, considering the themes, I thought I'd like it more.
Visually, the game is amazing, though I don't like the human models, the pixel art for the rest looks gorgeous. Gameplay can be a bit of a slog, puzzles, as sparse as they are, makes no sense sometimes and the slow walking speed can add insult to injury during these boring moments. The story has good bits, mostly when it involves Mrs Goodwin, but many beats of the story and horror fell flat to me.
I can recommend this if you are searching for a short game with mild horror.

Short bite-sized point and click adventure where you help a gnome stop the collision between an stray asteroid and his home asteroid. The visual style and sound are very relaxing, I really did like playing it even though it's very short.

Psychopomp is great. The visual style, surreal writing and tense atmosphere had me on edge most of my playtime.
Definitely recommend playing as it's free and short.

Really liked the style and story. Combat can be a bit of a slog, but it was fine most of the time. Would recommend for a low price, but for free? Definitely play.

Short puzzle game that puts you in the paws (?) of BK, a raccoon working for Donut County in charge of delivering donut (holes). The game really grew on me during my playthrough as more mechanics were presented on each level. The subtext of an all consuming hole that grows bigger and bigger because of someone's greed is not subtle.

I was already familiar with the franchise as I had played the first game on my PSVita.
SteamWorld Dig 2 refines the formula and takes the style to another level. The story is nothing to write home about, but Dorothy, Rusty and Fen are all great characters that pull my heartstrings.
I really like the gameplay. It hits the sweetspot between cozy and challenging, had a lot of fun exploring everything.
