Just buy the damn game. I paid $40 for tons of top tier content, and somehow they're not done releasing great content. Absolutely worth your money and probably one of the best co-op games I have ever played.

Buy the game. You've already been told it's a masterpiece and I'm just another voice in the void telling you the same thing.

I played Zombieville on my iPod touch back in ye olde days, and if you did the same, just buy this game. It's a shot of nostalgia, and not even in a cheap way that many devs take advantage of today. It's just a well-crafted evolution of a fun pick up and play game. It looks good, it's pretty polished (some annoyances here and there, like not being to exit menus with the escape key), but this is a wonderful little game. There's lots of meaningful progress to be made as well. Upgrades to weapons and perks give this pick up and play game enough depth to keep you engaged while you're shooting zombies.

The game is good. Really good. Like, DAMN good. There are so many improvements over CS I, ranging from really awesome features like building upgrades and more granular control over zones (you can choose the shape and size of landfills!) to QoL improvements like placing down grids and water/electricity flowing through roads.

But man, the performance issues are pretty bad, and I shouldn't have to turn a bunch of stuff off to properly play the game. And the things you turn off make the game look kinda ugly. Not only that, but there are lots of really weird clipping issues and things sometimes don't seem to render correctly (you get like a weird 'shimmering' effect in some of the overlays, for example). That, and some of the overlays eat up my performance.

Now yeah, if you have really good specs, you run this game. I have a 4080 and I'm pretty much always above 60 (minus some of the overlays), but that's on a 1080p monitor. They should've left this one in the oven for another month, because there's a damn good game hiding underneath some of the lack of polish.

Definitely buy this game, but I'd give it a little longer before you do. I hope to change my recommendation sometime soon.

Alright, I supposed it's time to update my review. It should still be noted that this game didn't get fixed until like 6 months after release. It's pretty par for the course for modern video games, but it should still be unacceptable. This thing was NOT playable at launch.

Anyway, the game plays great now. You will need some serious hardware to run this thing on ultra settings, but that makes sense when you see the result. This game looks absolutely amazing, and it's the same amazing game we've all been playing since 2013. I recommend a buy now. Not like we have any power over the industry anyway. Developers and publishers are going to keep doing this 'finish the game after launch' garbage.

Odd to review this game after so long, but I reviewed the game when it was in EA, which it's obviously not anymore. I've noticed that this game splits the Subnautica fanbase, and the fault line is the purpose of you being on the planet. In Subnautica, you were dropped on a hostile planet and your objective was survival. The game's music and storyline emphasized that really well.

Below Zero is not like that at all. The theme feels more like exploration than survival. There are survival elements (actually, basically all the core gameplay mechanics are there, and are actually better in BZ), but the game's here to pull you through a beautiful world. It's much more serene and peaceful (though don't get me wrong, the ocean on 4546B doesn't stop being dangerous near the arctic), and you get a modular Seatruck!

Anyway, I am one of those who thinks BZ is better than the original. But honestly, just know what you're getting into. This game *is* a Subnautica game, and has the things you'd expect from a Subnautica game. But this game's feel does differ from the OG in the way I described above. With that being said, this game is amazing, and I recommend buying.

1. Grandma tells me to gtfo and prove myself. Alright.
2. Go into Temple of Trials, punch myself some radscorpions and giant ants until I realize I have a spear. Right on.
3. Find impenetrable door.
4. Find plastic explosives.
5. Set timer for said plastic explosives. I accidentally set them for a minute.
6. I place them on the ground and wait for a bit, nothing happened.
7. I then pick them and try to figure out how to use them.
8. Blow up with plastic explosives in my inventory.

11/10 would tangle with some explody bois again.

1. Bought game, noted that it had come out a while ago
2. Looked at list of DLC and went "Oh no, Paradox is turning into EA!"
3. Played game. Enjoyed it.
4. Decided to actually look at the DLC
5. Noticed that I didn't actually want all the DLC
6. Bought Mass Transit DLC
7. 10/10 was a good DLC, but the game is also enjoyable without it.

Good job, Paradox. You made a good city builder and have made good DLC to go with it, should anyone want some extra stuff. EA could learn a thing or two here.
If you want a great city builder that will keep you entertained for a while, here it is. 10/10, would nominate for Mom's Spaghetti again.
