I played this game years ago on the xbox360 and remembered it fondly. Unfortunately this was not the case when I launched the game off steam. Once in the game the sensitivity of both my controller and my keyboard made the cars almost undriveable. After a quick google search most people recommended that you lower the resolution and the cars will be more responsive. For me that didnt work. I finally found a youtube video that had me change the controls.NFS13Save file located for me in C:\Users\Alpha\Documents\Criterion Games\Need For Speed(TM) Most Wanted\Save\1002968130065.

Once i found the file i edited:
STEERLEFT=0,KEY_A,0.00,1.00
STEERRIGHT=0,KEY_D,0.00,1.00

and changed it to:

STEERLEFT=0,KEY_A,0.00,2.00
STEERRIGHT=0,KEY_D,0.00,2.00

After saving the the file and relaunching the game the sensitivity of the car was better, but not perfect. Another google search later I found out that my game was locked at 30fps. So I followed the reddit post I found and edited the config.NFS13Save. Located for me in C:\Users\Alpha\Documents\Criterion Games\Need For Speed(TM) Most Wanted.

Inside the file i found the line:
LockTo30=true

and changed it to:
LockTo30=false

I then saved the file and proceeded to launch the game one more time. Upon launching I noticed the game was no longer locked to 30fps, but was still locked to 60fps. For me this was upsetting because i know my pc will run the game at a much higher frame rate. I tried turning the steering sensitivity back to 1.00, but it went back to being basically unplayable.

The game is very much playable after "fixing it" and nostalgic listening to an awesome soundtrack and speeding 170mph+ away from cops. Overall I would rate the game play as 7/10. Even after 1-2 hours trying to fix the game the cars still feel clunky and when it does respond you often end up oversteering. I played the game for about an hour after "fixing it", but the sporadic oversteering caused countless crashes along the way. I read a forum stating there is a mod to help with this, but I was unsuccessful in finding it. If someone is to read this I hope it helps in some way. If someone knows where I and others can get the mod to make it more playable feel free to comment it.
