Born Punk is a point-and-click adventure game sent in a cyberpunk world marred with geopolitical upheaval and corporate rule. I went into this game completely blind (didn't even read the description), going only off some brief footage I saw and was instantly sold.

My first minutes with the game had me hooked. The pixel art style and atmosphere was the first thing I noticed, and I knew this game has HEART. Every inch of the starting apartment was filled with details that told me someone cared. A lot. This level of detail continues to every single area of the game; there's no shortage of visual polish anywhere.
The music is also quality, with the main menu theme being my favorite (no OST to buy on Steam though?)

Since this is a point-and-click adventure, the gameplay comes mostly from exploration puzzles. These puzzles are good, and had me stumped for a while. I only had to use a walkthrough twice, and for some particularly tricky solutions I probably wouldn't have tried ever.

I had no idea what the story was going to be about, seeing how I went in completely blind. It had me intrigued and had me looking for time to come back and play more. The overall tone is serious, yet still takes time to present its dark sense of humor. I enjoyed it overall.
Unfortunately, the ending disappointed me. The game just kind of... ends. The plot seems to hint it's going somewhere grand, but the game ends right there, just as it felt like we were reaching the climax. There's also a couple plot threads I feel like weren't given proper conclusions and are left hanging for what I can only assume will be a sequel.

Besides that, I would wholeheartedly recommend Born Punk to anyone that loves classic point-and-click adventure games (less Telltale and more Monkey Island), loves cyberpunk settings, or enjoys pixel art. Those three things are its strongest areas.
