Endless Legend is my new favorite 4X game. Me and some friends picked up the definitive edition on deep discount last week and have been having a blast in multiplayer. A shocking amount of depth, engaging exploration and combat,. It works great on steamdeck, and I highly recommend installing the Endless Legends Community Patch, a community-made balance and bugfix patch which fixes the few complaints I had about the game.

Poorly featured and terribly optimized, Town of Salem both looks and runs like it was made in Flash. There's no reason with such simplistic 2d graphics should chug on my machine, but it does. It lacks resolution options, scalable UI/text boxes, or the ability to mute harassing players, and has full-screen popups for microtransactions every time you launch the game. I purchased this game on the reccomendation of a friend, and because I conflated it with "Werewolves Within". I MUCH prefer the free browser version "Epic Mafia" and I only continue to play this game because it's the version my friends prefer, and I can't get my money back anyway.

In summary: don't waste your money, there are way better versions of this game out there.

Imagine Soldat, but with fully destructible environments, realistic physics, and the ability to build and man your own bases and command dozens of troops. Excellent mod support for adding new guns, soldiers, vehicles, levels, base components, and even entirely new game modes.

Also, there's a rocket propelled chainsaw. :D

It's not for everyone, but I love this game, and you should absolutely try it. If nothing else, get a "trial" from pirate-bay, and after 3 days, buiy it if you like it, and uninstall if you don't.

It's an absolute blast for local multiplayer, by the way.
