Almost 30hrs in, and I really LOVE this game. The art is cute, the gameplay solid and the whole thing is reminiscent to the golden era of 16 bit games in the late 90s early 00's.

Pros:
+ Job system is simple but fun and surprisingly deep, allowing you to really play around with builds with almost no restriction.
+ Art is cute, Music is amazing. Main Character is cute.
+ Customizable difficulty setting. You can go super easy mode with healing to full health after every battle and no penalty after death if you want. You can even negate the ever-changing dungeon gimmick that most rogue-likes insist on, by using the same world map seed, so the dungeon layout would be the same.
+ Really fun gameplay. As a mix of ARPG / Turn-Based Rogulikes, it neither has the depth of the best ARPGs nor Rogue-likes out there, but for what it is, it's fun and will get you hooked for more.
+ Developer still updates the game apparently. That's good.

Cons:
- learning curve isn't that steep, but it does take a lot of time to finally get in the flow of things. The meta game gets going only once you've unlocked the town's facilities and learned how to make use of them.
- some UI choices.
- each class is rather shallow on its own, so you're kind of expected to multi-class, making a single class build unexciting.

Overall it's a wonderful game
9/10
you gotta try this. Now to talk a little about the game.

The job/class system really shines here. There is almost no penalty to changing from any one class to another class, considering there is no "job paths" or "requirements". Realistically in one run, the game allows a character to master three to four jobs and get all of their skills as long as she has a ton of money. The job difficulty rating is somewhat accurate, considering some jobs require good items to synergize with their skills. Basically, class with Hard difficulty relies on gimmicks and items. With the right items and planning, Hard class can be overly powerful.

Weapons and equipment are also not restricted to class, stats, nor level, which means your shiny beefed up legendary sword and gold plated heavy armor that you've stored in your bank that once belonged to a lvl 15 paladin isn't useless when your paladin dies and you start with a new lvl 1 mage. Your mage can immediately wield that sword and armor and steamroll her way through early game and catch up to wherever you were last time. This opens up so many opportunities for fun, niche and even gimmicky builds and even save you from a lot of headache.

So here are beginner tip for dealing with meta progression:
  • Make a character specifically for item gathering. Collect, win and create as many good items as you can and store them in the bank. When your item gatherer dies, hopefully you will have a stock of good items for your next character to use.
  • Get pets. Your pets are part of your the meta progression. A good high level pet can do the early game for you.
  • Sell items that your current / future character don't need--which means you may have to plan for your future character as you're playing your current one. But that's just the nature of Tangledeep (the game, not the dungeon)
  • Extract modifiers. If you see an item that has ONE modifier that you like but don't feel like equipping it or storing it, then don't sell it yet: extract from it.
  • Don't build your character to fit an item--make an item to fit YOUR build. That means using orbs on a common weapon and keep improving it until you get the weapon of your dream.

The idea is to keep making steady progress and to minimize the loss from character death until you finally beat the game, and so far I'm loving every bit of it--even the setbacks and losses.

If there is any real criticism towards the game, it would be documentation and maybe UI. You have to open a wiki page if you want to min-max your meta game, because for example, the stat bonuses of each class isn't stated on the job selection menu. Class bonuses and buffs needs to be more detailed. The Bank UI is also not ideal. I can't really tell how many items are already stored in the bank and how much storage capacity is left.

Also, please let us name our custom weapon instead of having it be like "Deadly Greedy Cruel Verdant Bow +++ of Familiars"

That aside, in conclusion I really love me some Tangledeep. Great work!

Listen up. Don't let the relatively low Score on the Steam Page fool you. This game is GOOD. Really, really good!

Is it grindy? Yes. Is it repetitive? That's kind of the point. BUT, you will love the grind, you will want to repeat the same stuff you been doing for the hundredth time, with a different build, different warframe, different weapon, etc. You will be addicted to fine-tuning your avatar just to find that perfect build, the perfect balance between fun and power. You'll be on the never ending quest to make your avatar both OP AND Fun--for YOU.

And then when you want to take a break from shooting and slicing and wall running and double jumping and air gliding, you can play "dress up" and pretty up your Warframe with capes, accessories, play with different color schemes and take screenshots with them. Or you can pimp your spaceship with decorations to really make it yours.

Not to mention the Warframe community is relatively amazing! You can join a clan and help build a dojo, or help other players go through their first week! There's a ton of stuff in Warframe to discover. I've sunk 500+ hours into it and I will probably sink 500 more.

For the asking price of NOTHING, you get something that rivals Triple A titles. Although frankly, you might wanna spend about 25 dollars on it, just so you have enough "premium currency." Just in case you're feeling impatient and want to progress really quickly.

Play Warframe, be a Tenno. It's a good game.

A really great game!

I'm usually worried when a game does a lot of things at once. So when I heard of a game that is advertised by many people as an Open World + Free Running + First Person + Zombie survival game I was excited but skeptical. However this game really does everything right and sets itself up as one of the top 15 zombie games of all times.

Here's hoping for more games like this.

Ho boy! what a ride! I finally played it after all this time and I actually felt bad for missing out on such a great experience for so long! Okay so here's the my thought:

You like Asian action thriller flick? You like movies like Police Story 2, Hard Boiled, Internal Affairs, SPL, Flash Point or maybe even The Raid and The Raid 2? You gonna love this game. This game gets the feeling of watching an asian cop thriller. From the dialogues, the setting or the story...the game gets it.

Once I got past some of the janky mechanics and the initial first impression, I was hooked. I couldn't let go! Dude I haven't felt so satisfied beating the snap out of guys with gritty kung fu or being in a middle of a stylistic shootouts! It's so good! Wei Shen really plays like the super cops portrayed in the movies I mentioned above!

for the current asking price I say this game is worth it. If you ever found this game at a discount. I seriously recommend buying it, especially if you like asian cop movies.

More of the same, so if you like the previous title, you will most likely enjoy this one. The game is very enjoyable if you're taking the smooth-talker, stealthy-hacker approach (both lethal and non-lethal). The game is probably built for that specific play style. As a straight up shooter, the game is competent at best: there's not much incentive to play guns blazing.

Length-wise, the main campaign is relatively short and the ending is an unsatisfactory cliffhanger with way too many loose ends. Clearly a DLC bait designed to siphon money out of your wallet.

For its price, I say don't buy it unless you're a big fan of DXHR AND you have money to spare. Either wait for a discount, or get the version with all DLCs unlocked.

I've never played Duck Tales, Megaman 2, Castlevania, Super Mario Bros 2, or any of those retro games that inspired Shovel Knight.
So believe me when I say that Shovel Knight is a really good game in its own right.

I recommend this game.

Ori and the Blind Forest is a well presented, capable platformer with a story that tries to tug at my heartstrings and for the most part, succeeds.

Pros:
-Good art and art direction. The art fits the theme of the game and nothing in game seems out of place.
-Solid gameplay. Controls are responsive for both gamepad and mouse+keyboard, Abilites are varied enough and none of the them are useless.
-Good conveyance. Plenty of helpful subtle hints so that players will figure things out eventually.
-Good Soundtrack. Some tunes are as memorable as the best moments in the game.
-Story and characters are cliche'd but I don't mind; I actually enjoyed them.
-Good package. It has identity and is much better than the sum of its parts.

Meh:
-Backtracking. Possibly the only thing I don't like in the game. The playable areas in the game are not big, but I kinda wished there was a fast travel method between areas.
-Length. Finished it in under six hours. There is very little replay value unless you're going for achievements

Conclusion:
With all that said, I still consider Ori and the Blind Forest to be the best experience in 2015 so far. If you're in the mood for a solid platformer and you want something lighthearted and wholesome, then give Ori a try.
