paid battlepass on a 70€ game. it's EA after all.

wanna just play the game you already paid 70 bucks for? here's two splash screens that open every time you launch the game, begging you to buy the battle pass. bought the battle pass to hopefully get rid of the splash screens? here's another splash screen, begging you to buy Battlefield Pro.

It's a neat game to play with (up to 3) friends, which is why I'm having fun playing it, but it's still VERY rough around the edges.

What I mean by that is that there aren't a lot of human players yet so lobbies mostly get populated with bots. In other games that wouldn't be much of an issue, but here bots are unmarked (no "[BOT]" tag) and are USING THE USERNAMES OF OTHER, HUMAN PLAYERS. The Bots' AI is abysmal as of this time with them running into walls (both static and player-deployed) for several seconds and when approached from behind suddenly turning 180° to insta-headshot you with a shotgun.

Gameplay wise it's completely unbalanced, with some shotguns outperforming sniper rifles in both damage and accuracy at long ranges. Healers (or Supports) have access to the strongest weapons in the game from lvl1 as well as the "light-footed" trait which effectively turns them into highly mobile Damage Dealers with a (self-) healing ability. Oftentimes the scoreboards are topped by Support Valiants with well over 50 kills and little actual healing done.

Movement in general feels very stiff with several animations looking like a puppet's rather than a human (-oid animal) performing them.

I'm usually not the kind of guy to point this out, but female characters are overly sexualized here in my opinion. The female Valiants have jiggle physics in the character selection screen and the Fox keeps moaning when she's taking damage, not to mention the skimpy outfits for some of the characters.

The UI feels clunky and takes a couple of seconds to process user input before reacting to it. There are several layers of menus stacked on top of one another and switching between Character Selection and Weapon Loadout for example is very unintuitive.

Localization is terrible with the wording of Valiants' abilities and lore feeling off and the censorship in the chat is so strict it's laughable. You can't write "It's you again", because censorship cuts out the 'gai', which makes it look like "It's you a*n". Asking someone whether or not they're Hungarian ends up looking like asking them whether or not they're hung since 'arian' gets cut out.

It also doesn't help that this game launched as pay to play with a day one battlepass and an in-game premium currency, which, as of yet does not have a use, but is purchasable nonetheless. Whether or not it's going to be a cosmetics only thing we will see, but it feels scummy in a pay to play game.

It's fun if you can rustle up a couple of your friends and can look past all the bugs and terribly cliché Furry stuff, but still a very much unfinished game.

Edit 23.05.2025: They added a skin with massive cleavage and ultra short mini skirt for twice the game's price. If I could choose 'REALLY NOT RECOMMENDED', I would at this point. Blatant cash grab move.

It's a great game for the most part, combat feels awesome in normal missions, the sheer variety of weapons you can put on your mech is and still have a viable build is super fun and I would recommend the game if everything was like this. But. The Boss Fights in this game (especially the Chapter concluding ones) have such massive, unreasonable difficulty spikes compared to the rest of the game, it's not even funny. I played through 4 Chapters, having a blast with the usual missions, but especially that last, Chapter concluding Boss Fight sucked the fun right out of the game. Looking up solutions online turned up things like: "Oh btw it's the hardest Boss in the game"; "lol just git gud" and other similarly helpful commentary.

Really enjoy playing with this, though it's kinda sad I could just buy a ship of the second highest rank for 15 bucks (on sale). Also, if you want it to have the 'artillery module' instead of the standard desintegrator, you need to 'refit' the ship for 1.000.000 normal ingame currency
