They say digital ghosts aren’t real. But I know better. I’ve seen chat logs from friends who don’t exist anymore. I’ve received invites from accounts that were deleted. Once, I joined one out of curiosity. The lobby was empty. Except for one player — no name, just a flickering outline. I couldn’t leave. The screen turned black. I woke up hours later, cold, with the controller in my hand. And a message on the screen:
“Welcome back.”

Sometimes I wonder — am I still playing the game?

Or is it playing me?
