Bloober Team really cooked with this one. Maintaining the story elements while modernizing the gameplay. I really enjoyed my time playing this game and unlocking all the achievements.

Performance side, I did get some fps drop once in awhile even in medium settings. It's annoying, but it doesn't too often to make it unplayable.

"So this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause."

Requiring 3rd party account is fine, but forcing it months after the game is out is not. Good luck to the dev.

This is quite in the middle for me, for few reasons. tldr; if you're going for nostalgia, you better off playing the original version since the remake didn't do justice. But if you want a modern looking rail shooter, this one is fine.

Pro:
- same gameplay as the original
- graphics
- new stuff (weapons, achievements etc)

Con:
- my main complain is the soundtrack. no soundtrack from original game, and the new ones are not good
- 2 player mode not doable with keyboard and mouse alone. gamepad is required
- the loading so slow, I have to install the game on my SSD.

Looking forward to the HOTD2 remake, hopefully the dev will take the criticism and do better for HOTD2 and future remakes.

Fun, short and cheap rhythm game. And made by the bit.trip games dev. Would recommend give this a shot.

only complain is that the insane mode is too hard lol.

Found out about this game, The Messenger from The Completionist Top 10 Metroidvania video last week, and realized I already have this on my Steam so I gave it a try. And wow, what a ride this game gives. The gameplay is solid 2D platforming metroidvania, with catchy 8-bit and 16-bit soundtracks. The story is fine. But the best part of this game, is the 4th wall breaker moments. Coming from Devolver, it is expected. There are some very hard puzzles, but none unsolvable. The only thing missing is the impactful final boss fight.

Seriously recommend this game to metroidvania fans.

An excellent remaster of the best trilogy I've ever played. Definitely worth it.
