i really appreciate how quiet this all is. it recognizes and gives love to and lingers on peace as much as it plays with the loneliness of its narrative, yet still knows when and how to take that peace away in introducing further musical or intense atmosphere or relief over the physical. in spite of its length it gives words to its world before anything else. it appreciates your appreciation, and lets you wait and observe as much as its characters do. it is really potent in a way that is not overwhelming or foreboding - not that those are negatives, either - even from the main menu. hello girl feels like a divine slice of quiet from a loud rabbit earth not unlike peaceful contemporaries such as ぼくのなつやすみ2 or Kentucky Route Zero. many times while reading i was caught thinking "maybe i can't help but fall in love when a visual novel can recognize, point out and meditate on just how beautiful something is with such gumption and sincerity."

it makes me happy that a team like this one can still come together create something wonderful in this kind of way. thank you imo team!

hauntingly beautiful, even still. it's as if there is some awful truth out there in the thicket. it's hiding in the branches--look at them
