This game is fine. It's not particularly bad, and as you can see from my hours, it's pretty playable and interesting.

However, the reason that this game drops to a Not Recommended, is because the UI is horrible:
- "Flipping" through your collection feels like it's built for a mobile device.
- Once an hour or so the UI bricks and you just can't click anything, requiring an Alt-F4.
- Some cards are terribly written and don't make sense until you play a couple of times with them.

If there was a "Meh", review rating, I'd give it that, but I can't, and I definitely don't recommend it.
It's fine.

It's a neat little auto-battler that has enough complexity and content to keep you coming back and at least completing all the difficulty levels.
Personally a big fan of the PvE and PvP modes being separate.
Very neat little game.

It's buggy. And I would still recommend you buy it at full price.

Neat little deck-building dice based battler. Feels like it still has room to grow, but I'm not disappointed with what's here already. I've really enjoyed the broken combo builds, as well the reliable scaling ones.

The game has a pretty good variety of strategies and mechanics, as well as a decent understanding of pacing and challenge. Worth it.

So the game in itself is interesting and fine, but it's an extremely frustrating experience.
Damage numbers are incorrect (routinely finding that the damage that will be applied at the end of turn is simply one more or one less that than the numbers displayed), mechanics are obtuse and seem inconsistent (timings specifically regarding when bonus effects trigger are all over the place), and the balance between characters, enemies, and difficulty levels seems a bit whack...

There are much better card games out there. Give this one a miss.

What is it? A spiritual sequel to Link's Awakening, that takes lessons from Breath of the Wild, mixes in Souls-like mechanics, and colours it with a solid streak of Fez.
Why play it? If the above isn't enough - I've never played a game since Link's Awakening that filled me with the same sense of wonder and mystery, that felt so rewarding to explore, and filled every single minute of play with joy and glee.
My GOTY 2022.

A neat auto-chess-like card game much in the vein of Hearthstone Battlegrounds, with a really neat aesthetic and many interesting choices to be made.

I like this game conceptually, but it turns out the auto-chess drafting game framework is less enjoyable as a single-player experience

Absolutely brilliant iteration of the genre that I keep coming back to and the developers keep on improving it.
It feels great - the UI feedback at controls make it an absolute pleasure to play. This is probably the thing that makes it stand out above the others.
The mechanics are great, feel really interesting, the events and randomisation enhance the replayability, and the personality and colour that the various play-styles add keep it fresh and fun.

One in the long line of games that follows in the footsteps of Slay The Spire, this is a great take on the formula that incorporates a few of the innovations discovered since but never strays too far from what made STS good.
If you only have time or money for one, I would always recommend Slay The Spire, but if you're keen for something that scratches the same itch, you've absolutely gotta give this one a spin.

* Of note, I'm playing this in Early Access and making comparisons to a game that matured and improved over the course of multiple years. VotV may best StS yet!

Best described as a quickplay version of Borderland. A co-op, dungeon crawling, first person looter-shooter, with Rogue-like elements.
My friends and I are having hours of fun exploring builds, exchanging tips, developing the talent tree (passive cross-run bonus) and challenging ourselves. It is fun to play at a hectic pace alone, or in at a chill social pace with good company.
Highly recommend, worth far more than the asking price.
