Edit: This game uses extensive AI-generated assets. It's mentioned briefly in the credits, and I assumed it was just for a few images near the end of the game. However, it actually goes deeper than that. For one, most (all?) of the in-world journals/notes/stories are AI, as well as banners and other textures. But the biggest issue is that the actual voice acting in the game is entirely AI. This definitely explains why the game felt so oddly lifeless and devoid of any real substance. I cannot recommend this game knowing how blatant its use of AI generated assets is. I knew something was off originally but this just confirms how soulless and bland this game really is. I wonder how much of the plot itself was even authored with intent... A truly shameful showing from a developer I formerly respected.

Original review:

The world of Firmament can feel a bit bare-bones, and the puzzles lack the same intricacy of Cyan's previous works, but overall this is still an enjoyable adventure with an intriguing atmosphere. It is short (I finished it in 8 hours), but honestly I didn't mind that. It definitely doesn't overstay its welcome.

If you're a Myst fan it's well worth a play through, just don't go into it expecting the same depth as something like Riven.
