I could go on for PAGES about my issues with this game, but here is a short summary. Overall, I thought this game was not very interesting at first. Upon a replay on Nightmare, I'm enjoying it a lot more. I still have my qualms with it (the interstitial dialogue feels like it's 1/10 of what should be there for something trying to have a story, the arenas are ALL THE SAME, flat and uninspired, and the 'vehicle' sections are so on rails and boring it should be a crime), but here is my main complaint:

You want to charge me EIGHTY DOLLARS for a game with a UI/UX this broken?? Like, this is comical how bad this is. For most players, the only part that will be an issue is the weapon swapping wheel, which is unresponsive trash at best. I find myself using the same weapon for an entire level because of how garbage weapon swapping is. But EVERYTHING else is just so fundamentally incomplete on a really embarrassing level.

The map starts moving around automatically when you swap to is sometimes, navigating any of the pages with some combination of varying letter keys when I COULD JUST CLICK ON THE THING IF YOU'D LET ME is awful, having to hit a key to load the lore and scroll through is a waste of my time, the inconsistent scroll wheels, the jumping text, the 'you picked up a thing' not being highlighted in the codex so you don't know what you've looked at already, clicking on an upgrade not working unless it's already highlighted despite making the 'you are upgrading this' noise when you click on it the first time, just everything is so amateurishly implemented and I can't believe no one on the QA team didn't clock half of it the first few minutes they got the last build of the game.

Like, don't get me wrong, aside from the weapon wheel affecting gameplay directly, these are all relatively minor quality of life issues that could be fixed later without much trouble at all. But the fact that they weren't fixed first, in a game this price, is unacceptable and worthy of derision.

Worth it just for The Cyber Grind game mode alone. Seriously, this game is so cool and fun and I cannot wait to see what the finished version looks like!

I already knew this game was great. So did you. I don't have an excuse for not buying it sooner. You don't either.

This game is a ton of fun! I really like the level design. There's a lot of verticality and flow to it, it reminds me of something like Tony Hawk. There's always some crazy higher peak to try to reach. Gotta get those collectibles, man! Seriously, just give it a shot!

I often heard this was a good game to try out after loving Vampire Survivors, and I really wish I made the jump sooner, because this is just delightful!

As much as I loved the original, I played the sequel orders of magnitude more and fell deeper in love with the series. I was, and am, very excited to go back and give the original the affection it deserves. I love all the neat upgrades, and the Providence Trials are giving me good incentive to try survivors I never really gave a chance before. I just beat it for the first time (go Huntress <3) and I can't wait to play this so many more times!

I was initially grabbed by the beautiful art, but the whole package is fantastic! I've always been a fan of this sort of puzzle game, my first being The Adventures of Lolo for the NES, and from what I've played so far I think this is a really good balance of being challenging while being low-pressure. It's just an adorable experience and I really recommend it!

This game broke into K*nami headquarters and made off with everything behind the Castlevania door, kicking over a maligned pachinko machine on the way out, and I mean that as the best compliment. This game is rad as hell.

I cannot say enough good about this game that I've been addicted to for years, except maybe to add that it has thus far inspired me to make 7 paintings based on it and I still have ideas for more. It's so damn fun!
