Pretty darn good for a free game. Good puzzles, clean and quick. No reason not to play it.

Absolutely, positively brilliant. I got this on sale for ~5$, but it's worth so much more. I can't think of any other puzzle game that's challenged me this much with something so deceptively "simple." Portal was great, The Witness too, but nothing quite tickled my sausage true. I can't count the number of joyous "AH-HAH!" and mind-blown moments I had in this game. There were so many new challenges and concepts throughout the entirety of the game. It never got old. Very few video games have ever made me feel like a GOD, but after more than 20 of the puzzles, I was referring to myself as a "sausage god" or "sausage genius" if I was feeling a little less innovative. Many levels felt insurmountable, but in time, I became one with the sausage. 10/10.

There's no locomotion in this game. Don't bother. Any other standard VR title will be better. Play Alyx or Boneworks instead.

I loved this game. Hands down the best rpg I've played in a while. I enjoyed pretty much all aspects of it (characters, art, story, the puzzles, combat). I did struggle a bit with some non-essential exploration in the third area. I'll elaborate a bit, while avoiding potential spoilers entirely:

The combat is what I'll refer to as "twin-stick lite" with both melee and ranged. I preferred and itemized for melee, but the ranged combat certainly had its fair share of use. I did spew bunches of profanities throughout several of the encounters, but after each one of those, it made it all the more worthwhile.
The puzzles gave me a huge sense of accomplishment >95% of the time, with a balance of puzzles where some were easy to figure out but hard to execute, vice versa, and some that were challenging in both aspects. If you ever enjoyed bust-a-move back in the days of arcades or any top-down adventure/zelda game, crosscode WILL tickle your pickle.

Can't really talk about the characters and story too much, but the pixel art is fantastic in both dialogue and normal game play. If you do play, do check out the records menu. It has all the info you'd need from a wiki (without spoiling anything) and I didn't really check it out until I was 95% of the way through the game.

Overall: clever, very smooth, just challenging enough. Gameplay ranks up there with Cuphead and the old Zeldas (link's awakening, link to the past, oracles) but the story in Crosscode is better.

10/10
