I don't understand why people like this game. It's boring, takes too long to skill up, the map is not interesting to explore, the combat is boring, it's obnoxious to escape from zombies, it's not satisfying to do anything, the list goes on and on. I don't know why people enjoy this game. I think it's terrible, and I like a lot of games.

The gameplay is fun. They finally muted on everyone on multiplayer so I am happy.
Online load screens are absolutely awful. Tons of cars and good blend of arcade/realism physics still make forza best contender for most popular and accessible racing title.

I had to think for awhile about whether I want to recommend this game or not. I decided that personally, I would recommend it.

First I'll start with the bad: this game certainly feels like Early Access. There's limited content, occasionally a questionable alert of the alien bois that may be caused by a bug, and limited monsters/level design. Also, if you have sensitive eyes/are bothered by constant squinting through darkness and fog, this game will make you want to grind your wee wee down with a fine grain piece of sandpaper. You've been warned.

For those of you with tight wallets, I'd wait for a couple of updates or a sale to pick it up.

For those of you who really think you'd like this game, you probably will, and here's why:

It's a fresh take on co-op horror survival that feels intense, is rewarding when figuring out how to proceed in unexplored territory with your friends, and ultimately has been a satisfying experience for me. It's great to plan out the next area with your buddies, royally eff it up halfway through, and then improvise your survival to push onward.

Granted, the game needs more content and diversity in level design, but we are hoping for that with the next update. There are 10 devs working on this, and for what they've produced this far, I will have to say that I admire their work and consider this to be a solid game so far (maybe for $25). Hoping updates to come will make it worth the $35 price tag.

What can I say?
I somewhat enjoyed H1Z1, but this game ♥♥♥♥♥ all over its ♥♥♥♥.

It's like H1Z1 except...

Better Graphics
More guns
Better guns
Better shooting of the guns
Gun customization
Better driving physics
More Realistic
No ridiculously small fall damage
Better Devs
No annoying crafting
More interesting looting (diff levels of gear)
Far better map
Houses and walls with great tactical design
Knock down mechanics (you can fall and teammate can help you up)

How is it similar to H1?

♥♥♥♥ community.
Love it.

Pros:

-Wide selection of characters
-Commitment to relase new characters and maps as season progresses
-Dynamic and involved combat system
-Fast-paced
-Largely customizable characters (cosmetic)
-Visually beautiful
-Nice sounds
-Awesome executions
-Gratifying when defeating someone

Cons:

-When you lose fights it can trigger the ♥♥♥♥ out of you
-Community is a bit dickish at this point
-Countering guardbreak is still a bit weird
-Something is missing in the game modes

Overall: If you LOVE anything to do with vikings, samurai, or knights, and you have always dreamed of being some glorified gladiator or warrior that can best multiple enemies with a blade and cut down your opponents with precision and sexyness, this game is for you. If you appreciate easy to learn, yet hard to master combat that is gory and relentless, this game is for you.
If you're a button mashing douche face, this game is not for you.

Also: I know I have 3 hours on record, but I've also participated in the majority of their alphas and betas. Overall I'd say I have about 20 hours logged into this game.

This game caters to a specific type of gamer.
It is certainly not for everyone.

If you pay good attention to detail, enjoy puzzles, appreciate well-written stories, but also like some creepiness and the occasional (very occasional) jump scare, this game is for you.

This game also carries an element of mystery, you're essentaily a detective with a psychological gift, who is attempting to solve the mystery of a lost city. For spoilers sake, I won't say more. I will only say that the story is quite original and well-thought out.

The atrocities that take place in this forsaken city are grotesque to say the least.
If you've got a dark side and appreciate some great atmosphere and a solid story, this game is for you.
The score is also great.
Voice acting is good.
Visuals are done well.

Only complaint is that the ending seemed a little bit rushed.
Other than that, one of the best horror-mystery-indies I've yet to experience.

8/10, would solve bloody skin-crawling mystery again.

I don't write serious reviews all that often, but I felt the need to do so for this one.
As you can see, I only have 20 hours logged in this game, but boy they've been thrilling.

Let me just say that in the first hour of this game, you will most likely spend running around aimlessly, overwhelmed by how many crafting recipes there are, by your character stats, zombies, dogs, and diarrhea.
Don't let it intimidate you.

You will slowly but surely learn the tricks and trades of this game, how to build a base, scavenge for supplies, and how/when to avoid zombies.
As many reviews explain, this is rust meets zombie hordes.

Basic premise of the game (with default settings):

Build your base during the day by harvesting resources in the environment around you. While doing so, avoid/neutralize minimal zombie threats. During the day, zombies are slow, easily avoided (usually) and generally easy to kill.

At night, zombies run.
Needless to say, it is not wise to scavenge and build during the night. If you must, you must do so very carefully, as it is easy to become overpowered by just two or three zombies in this game.
Zombies become more powerful each day, so you must become stronger and more crafty yourself.
It is a constant race against the zombies and the clock, with the environment (weather, radiation) and zombies themselves slowing you down.
Build your base, scavenge your resources, and improve your skills in weapons training relentlessly during the day, because at night, they will come (sometimes. wish devs would improve this component of the game).
On each seventh night, the blood moon hangs high in the sky and hordes of flesh-hungry, bloodthirsty zombots want to feast on you and your companions.
DON'T LET THEM. How long can you survive? Hmmmmmmm?

Seriously that's the basic premise. It's so much fun with friends, I've convinced 5 of them to get it and it's been a total blast thus far. I highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys surviving with friends in a changing environment.
It has its fair share of bugs, it's early access. But man this game should really be supported.
Buy a two-pack and pay 20 each with a buddy, it's well worth the 20 dollars.

Poops on H1, poops on DayZ, with far less funds and I'm sure fewer developers.

Didn't save once.
Never playing again.

Overall was fun game.

Once upon a time, three years ago, I tried DotA 2.

I'm still here, haven't gotten up once.

Now my left hand is about as agile as a cross-faded sloth.
