Maever is a loser.

With over 1500 hours played I can truly say this is a great game. This game has been going strong over 8 years and still get's regular updates.

Pros
- Most entertaining strategy game I've ever played
- High replayability value
- Throws you curve balls even as you get better

Cons
- Dated UI, certainly not most intuitive
- Learning curve to start out with
- Many DLC, some of which essential (more below on this)


Still worth it in 2021? YES!

You can either buy the base game and get all DLC with the paradox subscription (€5/$5 a month) and see if you like it. otherwise I'd suggest buying the Bundle, namely "Europa Universalis IV: Starter Pack", which has frequent sales. I've waited and bought the DLC with a 75% sale later on, It's a lot of money but I've spent more on MMO's in the past. I suggest watching some youtube videos.


If you're the kind of player that can really sink your teeth into a game and appreciate strategy games. Do not be scared off by the fact this game is older, it's core is solid and really not many studios bother supporting their game this long.
