This review has been a long time coming, but I suppose there is no better time than a Steam sale to finally write it.

Adios is probably my favorite game of 2021. I don’t deal with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like “best” and “worst,” and I’m not terribly interested in giving you an IGN wannabe look at this game. All of this is just my opinion and what I enjoyed this year.

Adios is the type of game and story that transcends its story and environment. The game is literally about a man who decides to stop letting the mob dump bodies at his pig farm, but if you’ve played it you’ll know it’s also about so much more. This game is about family and relationships. It’s about what it means to do the right thing, even if you won’t receive acknowledgment for it and if doing the right thing may actually be bad for your well-being.

This is a story that could only work as a game. Through a series of vignettes the game weaves the story of a man living his last day and just reconcile that fact with the man who will probably kill him - the friend who will probably kill him.

If any of that sounds intriguing pick it up. I loved the time I spent with it and I can’t wait until some of the details fade a little and I can experience it again. It’s a fantastic journey, and it respects its players as well as their time.
