This is where you start to realize all the people watching Moe, Romcoms, etc. were right all along. What's the point of watching a serious anime or reading a manga like Berserk or Kingdom when they're honestly not that great? They're certainly good at what they do so long as you judge them only against other, similar series in their medium, but the moment you take a step back and compare them to something outside that medium, their flaws stand out much more, and they begin to just become so tiresome to trudge through knowing you could've enjoying yourself much more if you had picked up a good novel instead.
