upvoting to fight the oppression. It's a great game. Don't think it has whatever modern ideology you want in it? go make your own.

Easily one of the best CRPGs out there. This deserves a throne next to the best in its class.

The story and dialogue alone are worth playing Skald for, but the gameplay is also the perfect amount of challenging with the ability to adjust it almost however you please. The turn-based combat starts off a little enigmatic and you pick it up very quickly, which is great. A lot of CRPGs tend to stay confusing until you're halfway through the game, your build is bricked, and you inevitably start over after reading a build guide. That's not necessary here, and you'll learn how to make a decent character after about half an hour, usually on your first try. All classes are viable and fun to play.

I can't stress enough how good the story is. If you like the idea of a lovecraftian eldritch horror story within the bounds of a mid/high-fantasy setting, this is exactly what you are looking for. Besides some typos, which the primary dev is working on, the dialogue, characters, and stories are all very well written.

Depending on how quickly you grasp the mechanics and concerned you are about doing side content, This game will give you a solid 15-25 hours of gameplay. WELL worth the $15 price tag. I'm on my 3rd playthrough.

It's a perfectly serviceable extraction shooter with first day launch teething problems. Use FSR instead of DLSS and any supporter packs can be collected in your mail. It's pretty unoptimized at the moment, but I haven't experienced much beyond some stuttering with a 3080.

Just don't go into this thinking it's going to be a day-one release that's at the same level Tarkov is with years of development behind it. Give em time to cook and we'll see where it goes.

I'm not leaving a negative review for the poor debut performance or the micro transactions, but the replayability. The original Dragon's Dogma is easily one of my top five favorite games of all time, but this one doesn't really make the cut due to how bland NG+ is, and how it ultimately kills the replayability of the game. In fact, the lack of any NG+ mode that's any more than an afterthought is exactly what I think will make this game quietly die out in the next 3 or 4 months, and that really disappoints me.

When you start a new game after beating it, that's all it is. A new game. There is no added difficulty, there are no enhanced or additional mobs, there is no Ur-Dragon with competitive damage rankings and rewards for defeating it as a community. You simply go about a new playthrough with your old gear and level. Sure, you might get the most mileage doing one more run to complete some sidequests you might have missed, or pick up some secret chest items you didn't find (that will be useless because you're already juiced up), but ultimately, NG+ is currently pointless and really disappointing. There's no hardcore OR time trial runs either.

The games ending in general really screams "we didn't meet deadlines, and had to cut stuff.... again.." And it's really unfortunate because the first DD suffered a similar fate.

Might as well not bother buying it on sale. There's blatantly obvious cheaters in every single EA hosted server I tried joining. Not even worth your time if you're purchasing it to play multiplayer, which you are.

I returned this game for a few reasons that are specific to my PC platform and tastes. I am coming from the perspective of someone that played Project Wingman first before trying AC7 on PC. In comparison, this game feels like (really it just IS) a a low effort port of an otherwise great console game, whereas PWM feels like it was a purpose-built homage to AC for people to enjoy on PC.

The biggest issue with AC7 is the fact that there is no native ultra-widescreen support. I run dual 2k 3440x1440 monitors, and in a day and age where Ultrawide screens are becoming more affordable and commonplace, it is inexcusable to resort to letterboxing players with these aspect ratios. It especially makes even less sense knowing that the game allows you to natively scale texture detail by 200%. it's such an issue that you have to download 3rd party software that unlocks the game from Steam DRM and use a python executable to force widescreen support. Doing so, MAY result in you being incapable of enjoying multiplayer due to this mod being picked up as cheat software. The installer for the fix even states this. So fixing the issue has the potential to lock you out of playing half of the game. While I will admit this is a very specific problem to Ultra-widescreen users such as myself, it is still an inexcusable oversight from such a big developer.

Further indications that AC7 on Steam is just a poor excuse of a PC port, is the fact that the in-game mouse&keyboard controls seem to be bare-minimum "usable". This game doesn't just have "full game pad support," to enjoy this game you essentially MUST use a controller to experience it to it's fullest extent. Drawing comparisons to PWM again, that game's m&kb controls are not just serviceable, they can be an optimal way to play if you so choose. The game's menu UI also has no mouse support and you must use your keyboard for menu controls. This may not seem like much, but it shows again how much effort was really put in to making this accessible for PC users. To take it to another level, the game assumes you will be using a controller to such an extent, that the in-game control tutorials from the first few missions will display controller icons for keybinds even if no gamepad is recognized on your system. The final straw for me was that there is no way to invert my lateral movement on mouse, AND there is no way to change keybinds while in a mission. You MUST exit to the main menu from whatever it was you were doing to then adjust your settings. More low-effort port clues.

Is the game good? YES, it can be amazing, but only if you're expecting to play the game exactly as though you would on a console. but with my specific setup, it's only a chore to play with clunky controls, has terrible PC hardware support, and bad UI contextualized for console/controller players. If you are a PC player in a similar situation as me, pass on this, and pick up Project Wingman if you haven't already. In many ways it is the better game, at least for people who want to enjoy a arcade fighter game on the PC.
