Requires playing on a third party client to better avoid cheaters once you get to a high level. Which isn't for everyone.

Anti-cheat is notoriously poor and has been so for years. This has led people to thinking everyone cheats which ironically has led to more people cheating. Combined with a very lax punishment for people who do get flagged as cheating and it has just caused a losing battle for valve.

I've played for 17 years now and morale seems to be at an all time low. No hope that valve will ever do anything to tackle the problem. It seems they've actually gone backwards by relying on AI and Trustfactor and have abandoned VAC completely. Which is terrible when you can increase trustfactor by simply spending money.
