After years of waiting this was incredibly disappointing. Terrible writing, meaningless exploration, none of what I hope for from what was once my favorite studio.

Great little metroidvania. Cute art, fun characters, and fun upgrades. Loved the references to Reverie Under Moonlight, which is one of my favorite metroidvanias of all time. I was hoping it would delve into more of the bleak atmosphere of that game, but I can appreciate this for a more lighthearted fairy tale with occasional dark patches. Great OST, and the pixel are is absolutely incredible.

This game stands out amongst not only RPGmaker games, but games as a whole for it's incredibly unique setting and how well it utilizes the the preconceptions and stereotypes that come with being an "office horror" game.

The entire first 2/3s of the game have you constantly exploring different aspects of business culture, twisted in interesting ways to create some great moments of horror, and even some good comedy. The characters, with a few exceptions come off as immediately likable, they each bring something different to the table and I was always looking forward to my next interaction. Unfortunately, the vast majority of the cast in underutilized and only has a handful of scenes.

The visuals, jumping between low poly gameplay, and high fidelity character portraits and stills, as well as some beautifully animated cutscenes, really bring the presentation to a level beyond what you would expect of this type of game. The presentation truly needs to be highlighted, as it is easily the most standout aspect of this game. The introduction / first 10 minutes are some of the best world and tension building I have experienced in a game.

Unfortunately, this game suffers from some severe issues with pacing and an unfocused tone in the last third of the game. Coming off of an incredibly strong scene, bookending the first two thirds, and beginning the "endgame" so to speak, I was ready for some more great moments, and interesting ways of exploring this game's unique business horror. Unfortunately, despite an incredibly cool area in "the gallery", the entire last third of the game becomes a very rushed, far less inspired race to the finish. There are almost no characters to talk to, many areas are cut off from access, dangerous but generic and uninteresting "robot" enemies roam the halls, and the final gauntlet, while having a few cool moments, reveals an incredibly boring and cookie-cutter backstory to a few of the game's key characters, as well as a joke of a final encounter. On top of all of this, getting closure with any of the game's main cast requires figuring out a contrived game mechanic that is completely unexplained and pretty much impossible to figure out without looking up.

All in all, this is still easily some of the best the horror genre of games has to offer, with an incredibly original, interesting, fun, and frightening premise that plays on office politics and drama to create an incredible setting and sense of atmosphere. I never thought I would a game land somewhere between Junji Ito, Earthbound, and American Psycho, but here we are, and for the majority of this game's short 4-6~ hour runtime, it absolutely nails it. An unfortunate last hour brings the game down, but far from ruins it.

One of the few absolute masterpieces of the last decade. Easily one of the most unique and creative puzzle games ever made.

With the exception of a few annoyances towards the very end and one bug that caused me to need to reopen my game, this game is flawless and a masterclass in making the player feel intelligent and in control.

Easy 10/10, is exactly what it want to be, nothing more, and certainly nothing less.

The pacing in this game is incredibly slow, 90% of the first hour is spent just holding down the run button and randomly stumbling through the dark. Outside of that the combat is very basic and uninteresting and the visuals, while good looking, are incredibly samey and monotonus.

If I hear good things in the future I may give this game another shot, but it's rare to find a game so slow that I can't stand it.

2D Bloodborne with many of the great features of a true metroidvania, I couldn't put it down from beginning to end. Also some of the greatest pixel work and most attractive character designs I've seen in a game like this.

Highly Recommended.

Argueably a perfect game. Absolutely nails everything it tries to accomplish.
