Played couch co-op with my friend. It may be my pc but there were some stutters here and there and certain things felt relatively awkward in terms of movement, but it was minor overall and didn't detract from the experience. The visuals are excellent and the monsters are freaky, that's really all you can ask for. If the story is good I think this will be a classic for sure

Though it was short, we both had a really great time and are excited whats next. This will be a pre-order for me personally, especially as a LN1 and 2 lover

Short, but an extremely promising display of what Prison of Husks could be.

My favourite thing about this game personally is the aesthetic. The low-res textures, the models, the palette, the sfx, the music, they're all absolutely excellent and dripping with atmosphere. I enjoyed the level design overall (there is only one-the prison. it kept me just lost enough so that I wasn't rushing through it, but not frustrating to navigate either). The only place I think this game can improve is on the technical side of things, which is to be expected. The dodge specifically feels really sticky/janky, but I don't know if that's meant to be intentional or not. I felt discouraged from "flowing" through attack strings, and instead opted to dodge away from the enemy (keep in mind I didn't play for long of course, so this could change in the full release). I think the parry feels good overall.

Just to comment on the negative review talking about enemy weapons damaging the player even when not attacking, I think the only place I experienced this was with the enemy that lights their weapon on fire, so I thought it was intentional. Even if it is, maybe it should be tweaked slightly if it feels bad?

Overall I'll be keeping this game on my radar for sure. Excited for the full release. Also please add custom bindings for the full release because the default controls go against every bit of souls muscle memory I have ever built up

**please use the moguri mod for this game. it's super easy to install and bumps the framerate up to 60/120 with widescreen, faster battle entrances, qol and cheats, etc.

While the battle system in this game is quite sluggish and not my favourite in the series, the characters more than make up for it in my opinion. Great story, music, and some of the most memorable and gorgeous environments in the series. The dialogue also stands out as being particularly excellent, as there's a really beautiful candid quality to it. While this is not my favourite Final Fantasy game, I still highly recommend it as it's one of the best games in the series

This really isn't necessary at all since it's literally Portal 2, but yeah, this game is awesome.

I'm insanely late to the party, but I finally finished Portal 2, and it's as good as everyone says. Even now, in 2025, Portal 2 is one of if not arguably the best puzzle game of all time. Portal 1 is great in it's own right, but Portal 2 succeeds in every aspect at improving on it's predecessor. More mechanics, deeper puzzles, better characters, better story, better action, pretty much everything you could think of.

The main thing to note about Portal 2 is that it is, in my opinion, a masterclass in video game design. While I noted that the game has more mechanics, they actually only added a few; the difference is that they are all of the utmost quality. It's really easy for sequels to get caught in the "more" trap and just go on a rampage of adding things for the sake of it, but the reason why it works in Portal 2 is that everything is added in the context of everything else. This is one of the best examples of "less is more" in gaming. Every mechanic is intuitive, fun, and incredibly simple in isolation. Adding everything together is what gets things really going. They have also mastered introducing new mechanics to the player. It typically goes like (show player what mechanic looks like -> allow player to test mechanic and figure out what it does -> force player to apply mechanic in a specific way -> way of using mechanic is added to their pool of knowledge -> add to that and make them combine everything in various ways to complete tests). It's incredibly rewarding and does a great job of easing you into each new trial.

As a side note, I already briefly mentioned it, but it's incredible how well Portal 2 holds up today. Granted it's not THAT old, but it's still impressive. I can only guess that it's Valve's excellent art direction that has allowed it to survive the seemingly exponential progression in graphics and technology in general. It's like Mirror's Edge or some of Valve's other games like TF2 in that respect. Portal 2 isn't trying to have cutting edge realistic graphics for what it would be in 2011, but it instead focuses on aesthetic, colour, and general art direction first. There isn't anything inherently wrong with trying to push your game into photo-realism, but if you want it to visually last, you need to take a page out of Valve's book.

Story wise, like I said, it's great as well. I went in blind, and the game felt like a real adventure all around. I enjoyed the characters, their arcs, the environments, the conclusion, all that good stuff. I don't really have much to say other than that, partly because I don't want to spoil anything, but also because it's just... good. Not life changing, but it's enjoyable from start to finish.

TL;DR: Portal 2 still holds up now and you should go play it.

I know that the game just released and that I don't have dozens of hours sunk in just yet, but I feel it is necessary to talk about how amazing this game is.

Everything this game does, in my opinion, is done extremely well. The gameplay is addicting, the music is phenomenal, and the story is interesting. One of the more unique elements of Picayune is the clear inspiration from Yume Nikki, which I don't see often in an action roguelike. In fact, I don't think I've seen it at all. It's surreal and dark and dripping with style.

If you like autoshooters and/or surreal and psychedelic imagery, I really can't recommend this enough.

Early Access Review
Just to get it out of the way, the whole "controversy" surrounding the game, in my opinion, is unwarranted. It basically boiled down to "incest in game = bad game, developer, writer, etc." It is without a doubt a taboo topic, but I wouldn't say it is leagues worse than the other topics covered in this game like murder and cannibalism. None of it, from what I have played at least, is glorified at all. The opposite is true actually.

Getting to the actual game, I think it's one of the more original rpg type games in this "sub genre" of games like Omori, Yume Nikki, Undertale and all that. The plot is something genuinely new and interesting which has kept me engaged the entire way through. I think the mechanic of switching between Andrew and Ashley is actually very interesting, and allows the game to tell the story in a particular way. Both of the characters think differently, so you get a sort of narrative omniscience for them specifically. The spin on that though, is that you of course can only listen to one characters thoughts at a time, meaning you're still left guessing sometimes. This is sort of a side point but I actually think the music is really great. Super memorable and original, it gets you in the right mood really well. Same thing with the art, really original and pleasing to look at. As other reviews have pointed out, the theming and dialogue could be described as "depraved," which I agree with, but in a good way. There's something really raw about the way these characters are written which feels sugar coated in other games like it. Also, the entire game is based on Andrew and Ashley's relationship, so if you're not into that then you probably won't like it. This game is very character driven.

All in all I really enjoyed what I played. I feel extremely bad for the developer but I hope they know that a lot of people still love their game. Very excited to see what's next.

*English is supported, I'm not sure why Steam says it isn't

It's of course, with no shame, just Sekiro. Though, it actually surprised me with how fun it is. While some of the bosses are quite literally just taken from Sekiro such as Genichiro with one of the first bosses, the other original bosses have movesets that are actually quite clever and interesting. My favourite example of this so far is with Guard of Mist, who in her second phase readies a fury attack with what was previously a sweep, into a thrust, but fakes out the player by spinning before doing it, making it look like a sweep.

Mechanically it impressed me as well. I could be totally wrong but as someone who beat all of Sekiro, the parry timings feel pretty accurate and I don't feel like I'm being cheated when I mess up. I'm almost positive they even included the i-frames that Sekiro has on jumps.

Overall I would definitely recommend it if you have played Sekiro. Even if you haven't I think it's a good time. It's not an incredible work of art but I can tell there was effort put into at least the mechanics. Also it's free and has anime girls

By far the best backrooms experience that Steam has to offer. It's very short and lacks replayability, but that initial experience perfectly captures what the backrooms is all about. It has a lonely, dreamy vibe with not only beautiful graphics, but excellent sound design to fully immerse you into that world. There are rooms and spaces which serve no purpose at all, which might sound bad on the surface but actually enhances this particular experience, since the backrooms is meant to be nonsensical and dream-like. It quite literally is a walking simulator, but if you don't want to simply explore these liminal spaces and instead want a true horror experience, then you should play one of the other numerous backrooms horror games. In a perfect world this game would have some sort of futuristic advanced AI, which makes procedurally generated rooms to really create that endless scale, but the game is short and sweet and I love it regardless.

If you like bizzare and scary games, you will probably like this. The music is extremely unsettling and is one of the main things that made me uneasy during my playthrough. The art definitely contributes to this as well since it is so vague. I think the art was made with that in mind, in order to play with our fear of the unknown. Overall it was a really bizzare but partly relatable experience since it plays with themes like overthinking, anxiety, trauma, stuff like that. Honestly a really short and sweet game, I will definitely play the sequel whenever that comes out.

I just finished the game and I honestly don't know what to say. (I won't put spoilers) Honestly this is by far my favourite game now. This is a modern masterpiece put simply. I bought this game on a whim because the art style looked cool and it ended up being one of the most beautiful games emotionally and visually I have ever played. If you're on the fence about buying this game just please get it. There's good turn-based mechanics, a unique and refreshing art style, terrifying psychological horror elements, and an overarching beautiful story.
