A very classic platformer in the sense that its pretty easy and rather short (100% in ~6 hours). Even most of the time attack challenges aren't that hard but the gimmick is extremely well executed and everything is polished up to make it a really satisfying casual experience. Some real bangers in the soundtrack too.

Tunic feels more like two games in one: the first being a fairly straightforward metroidvania adjacent adventure game with a unique method of guiding progression, and the second being the sea of puzzles hidden underneath, with solutions hinted at only in riddles. Either way, deciphering the games manual and the notes scribbled within makes for an original experience, while the incredibly well stylized graphics. beautiful ambient tracks, and great map design create a world that's really satisfying to explore.

Honestly haven't finished a borderlands game in a long time but for some reason I've got a soft spot for this one. Story is at least good enough to laugh at, and the DnD references are interesting enough. Mechanically its solid, maybe not the best in the series but multiclassing is interesting and spells are neat. Just a fine game I guess.

Mechanically I think this is a huge step up from the Presequel, with Moze and Flak being particularly interesting, and build paths in general feeling pretty unique, but I've grown less fond of shooters with age, and with the story obviously offering nothing its hard to personally recommend this. DLC pricing was also atrocious.

I remember the story being decent but I wasn't much a fan of the characters mechanically. Like the gunslinger aesthetic and mechanics drew me in to Nisha but her active ability being literal auto aim is such an egregious cop-out. How they thought not playing the game for 6 seconds was an interesting attack is beyond me.

Been a fan of physics based puzzle games since the flash days and this caught my eye for that reason, but its really lacking in the puzzle department. You mostly just move through the levels and watch the physics, which is nice and all but not really engaging or fun. I didn't play much so maybe it gets better, but I doubt it.

Somewhat simple but very charming action platformer. It uses its tendency towards excessive violence to comedic effect, and character variety is surprisingly good, which makes blowing up the levels and its inhabitants fun for many hours, especially in multiplayer.

Pretty much the entire fanbase agrees this is where it peaked and I'm no different. Perhaps its just nostalgia or the environment at the time, but it feels like this game struck the right balance with its edgy and excessive character design and writing where you can laugh at it instead of rolling your eyes, and still appreciate the more serious and well written story beats. There's also a good sense of direction in how you build a character, without sacrificing the variety of options, a balance I feel future entries often disrupt. Never been a huge fan of the "80 dlcs" marketing strategy, but the base game is great, and these days, is pretty cheap too.

You get what you see, so if brutally precise jumps in an otherwise simple platforming engine sounds fun you'll like it, otherwise you won't. Either that or you want to have a laugh trolling your friends for an hour or two, but either way the low pricetag is fair given the length of the game.

Its a solid successor to the orignal and a good game in its own right but ultimately a slight step down in quality. In game art is still amazing, but the animation style cutscenes are an odd contrast and not as unique.

The three weapon system is interesting and offers some replay value, but each has a less complete and engaging moveset than the original's Mea Culpa, in part due to some of the new attacks feeling useless or even detrimental. Limited upgrades also means new game plus is likely where you'll truly get to try another, but the system of toggling each difficulty option is less interesting than the orignal's three unique campaigns.

Being more movement based makes running around the map more enjoyable, but bosses, at least mechanically, felt less memorable and more generic in their design, likely as a consequence of players having an inconsistent moveset. As for the story, its hard to follow in detail, but just as in the first game is enjoyable nonetheless.
