supergiant is one of my favorite indie studios but this is their first game that i kept coming back to play even after completing the main story, and i am not historically a roguelike/roguelite fan. great steam deck game if you move around often

everything about this game (the art, music, story, world design) is fantastically charming. the characters (main cast, side characters, enemies, and miscellaneous creatures) are adorably memorable and the dual setting concept is written and executed beautifully. at its worst, it suffers from a healthy dose of rpg maker jrpg bullsh*t and takes a 10-15 hour investment before the story starts to feel meaningfully compelling on its own, but the payoff is huge and will leave you brooding and wishing to play again in spite of those shortcomings. i don't think i'm going to forget what this game means to me
