TL;DR: When you try to send a bug report through this terrible rip-off of Anno, it will crash when you click "Submit".

I wanted to like this game, despite the bugs and fatal errors. I do like the setting of the game, the visuals, etc..

But this is a very, very limited attempt at what Anno -3000 would be if they ever tried to make such a thing. There is no actual *game* behind the Egyptian setting! There is no depth, no hidden complexity, nothing that would require planning. The missions lack creativity, the economy system is of a very questionable design. I did not even expect to see a lore or any historical resemblance when playing -- a simple arcade-style configuration that would have been fun (or at least somewhat challenging to play) would have sufficed.

Even if this piece of software ever lived up to its potential and even if the developers managed to get rid of the bugs (which, I admit, may sometimes be tricky), I would not be willing to pay more than a few quid. It reminds me of all those anime clones of the triple-A titles.

Not worth the money, the game is all we were promised it would be, and precisely that. There is no depth to the gameplay.
The developers relied on the setting to be the seller, and completely forgot to make the actual game.

TL;DR: A very bad Paradox title in its current state. The cons MASSIVELY outweigh the pros.

Pros: great theme, great graphics, solid game mechanics.

Cons: Played on the Underboss (4/5) difficulty: the game is very repetitive. The combat is very easy to master. The mixture of mouse and key inputs leads to a lot of accidental moves that cannot be reverted. Diplomacy and gangster management are shallow.

I will wait for a few months before playing again. I love Paradox games. But first Imperator Rome, then this ...
