I write this review as someone who is a sports fan, and someone who has never touched a JRPG game outside of playing Pokemon as a kid.

This game is absolutely awesome. So far, I've only played the story mode. It's a lot of exposition at first, but the game is so charming in it's dialogue and worldbuilding that it's kept my attention. Then the game throws these little minigames at you that seem like they would get repetitive, but they've cleverly disgusied these minigames as funny moments.

Then you finally get a taste of the core gameplay: soccer. Think Yu-Gi-Oh meets Pokemon meets SOCCER. It's a joy to outmaneuver your opponents using over the top special moves. The animations are all so clean and fun to watch, and I've yet to feel the urge to want to put the game down.

I would 100% give this game a go if you have a slight interest in either soccer or anime. It's really good.
