Playing this game when it wasn't tarnished as badly by its toxic community, I had fun, met some interesting characters, made temporary friendships before getting shot by a cortex for holding contraband and ran into some hilarious moments.

Unfortunately now, the game's only a shell of its former self. The game got ruined by drama, DDoSing, and what I think ruined it most, 24/7 griefing groups that made it their sole duty to either ruin the experiences of everyone for their own amusement, or zealously devote their time to forcing players to play 'the right way' by consistently team killing, making hitlists in their own discord server for players they don't like, abusing every glitch imaginable, running 10+ alts for ban evasion, using those alts to exploit game mechanics further so they can spawncamp you, and slandering you for simply wanting to play as a scum/cortex role.

I really wish the developers and moderators would listen to their community more when it came to these issues, and wish they saw how much of a detriment these bad actors have put on the game's reputation and the overall experience, but it seems like they've favored the side of the griefers and completely disregarded the servers that are now dead as a result.

i got lost in the fog for about 6 hours in-game time and never reached the building, another time i was about to jump across a gap in a completely dark room only to be dragged down by demons before i could even jump, and another time my flashlight ran out of battery and I got chased by a bug, a huge slime and another huge creature as I panicked running in the darkness where I stepped into a land mine and died.

It deleted my saves for no reason

I don't often write steam game reviews, but I haven't played a game with such a great story, and an overall experience that it left me speechless right after playing it in years. This game managed to do all of that and it makes me wish I could forget everything about it and play it all over again. It's been nearly an hour since I've finished it and I'm still left with the same feeling I had when I last finished it.

Cons:
- If not debeaked, will cause a fate worse than death.


Pros:
- Cute 'lil headcrab boi

- Need a beanie? No problem! Headcrab loves your head, and will keep it warm for you on Polus (feature not actually in game)

- 10/10 Pettable rating

- Very playful, make sure to keep it entertained and it will entertain you.

- C'mon its a cute headcrab what more do you want?

I named mine Charles, Charles the Headcrab, and I love him. If this hasn't convinced you to buy a headcrab, then I don't know what will.
