You wake up, Time to go visit mom, shame she's on the other side of the alien zombie rabbit apocalypse.

you hop into your Skoda 100 with 2 and a half litres of gas, and drive down the abandoned highway. empty houses and businesses occasionally pop up on the road. You get to an abandon'g garage, and find a thing of beauty. the V8 big block engine out of a Plymouth Fury. you swap out the engines and watch as the back of your car hits the floor. This is going to be amazing.

you hop in your Skodouth Fury100 and tap the gas. Rubber squeals as the power of your engine mixed with the nothing weight of your car means you have the traction of a lubed up rattlesnake on a water slide. but once you get traction, YOU. ARE. SPEED.

You fly down the highway. How fast are you going? well, the speedometer goes to 160 KPH, and the needle is at your fuel gauge... OH RIGHT. YOUR FUEL GAUGE. it was low before, but now It's trying to dive into the Grand Canyon.... Please let there be a building with a gas tank.... an oil tanker? SOMETHING???

Sadly... there's nothing, and within minutes, your once precious car is huffing fumes...

time to walk.... with nothing but an air rifle for protection... and an army of ravenous rabbits...

perfect 5/7 would do again.

You race, you crash, you race again. not as robust as a full simulation racer, but more robust than a lot of casual racers.

Sometimes you play a game for action. A chance to kill and slaughter a thousand faceless enemies in order to complete your heroic goal. And sometimes you will play a game to kill time, maybe solve a puzzle, toss some candy together on facebook or a thousand other distractions.

Gone Home is not either of those games. It doesn't have enemies, I guess it sort of has puzzles, but it isn't about that. it isn't about finding clues, or anything like that.

Gone Home is a story. A story that, while it is set 10 years ago, it still rings home with many people and families today. Gone Home is humanity in a simple exploration.

If you want a game with action and adventure, and a princess to save in a distant castle, or a game with complicated and engaging puzzles that will take you hours to unravel, this is not the game for you.

If you want a game with endless content and hundreds, if not thousands of hours of replay value, this is not the game for you.

if however, you want a game with a good short story to it and a bit of exploration, both of the play area, and the way familys work....


This game just might be for you.

The life of a princes is tough, you never know when you'll be called upon to go to a dance, make decisions about the economic path of your country, sentence criminals.... or demon possessed individuals... Fight in the middle of a Battle with your INCREDIBLE MAGIC POWERS, Heal the wounded on said battlefield while at the same time directing the battle... yup, the life of a princess is tough.

and then you die.
