EDIT:
[Posted: 21 May, 2020 @ 11:49am]

PUBG was a blast for me. Provided countless hours of fun. #

BUT in the current state I cant recommend this game to anyone anymore.

PUBG was a great game with even greater potential but has been surpassed by almost all of the other BR competitors. And while the other games improved with every update; PUBG is in a downward spiral and getting worse every update.

Some examples are:
Performance Issues, Desync Hitreg, Cheaters, Skins, Loot distribution, April Fools FBR disaster, not listening to the community at all...

With the 7.2 Update we probably hit rockbottom.
They killed the Solo and Duo Brackets COMPLETELY with the addition of bots.
You can ONLY play without bots in Squadmode playing the "new Ranked mode".
So you are basically are forced into a bracket you might dont like and have to fill your squad with randoms if you dont have 3 mates on your skill levels or have to queue as a 1Man Squad.

They said you will encounter less bots the higher your hidden ELO, and none if it is high enough and this would be only a service for "newer" players.
This is not true. In the "non ranked brackets" you will encounter 30-70 bots. You can check reddit or twitch streams of any of the content creators remaining to validate that.

Bots are extremely dumb and programmed to miss most of their shots but yet you have to give your position away since they are extremely good at spotting you and will always start shooting in a range of 100-150meters, even though they probably wont hit anything.

Bots kill all the fun in a BR. And this is probably the nail in the coffin if there arent any significant changes in the near future.

Still the best Battle Royale Game on Steam.
Could be a lot better though, which is a shame.

Some Advice:
Get it on a sale.
Play it with friends.
Play FPP.
Dont support their loot crate system with real money.
Get Chicken Dinner!

"Game of 2017" for me
Nier: Automata is a great ARPG developed by Platinum Games and Published by Square Enix. By the visionary Creator Yoko Taro (I never heard of before).
It has the full package. Great Story. Nice Atmosphere. Awesome Combat Mechanics. Likeable Characters and a Stunning Soundtrack.

It is still a hit or miss experience.

You may find the story boring or too complex (given that there are 3 Playthroughs/Game+ to get the full picture and multiple "fun" alternate endings) or just the fact that the Prologue of the Game has no means of SAVING which didnt amuse a lot of people (but is intended). Or just dont like the Genre-mix.
Some Sections of the Game wil be Straight 3rd Person ARPG - then it will become a Top Down Arcade Shooter, and revert to a Sidescroller etc. Sometimes the game tries too hard, but its a very creative and nice approach to mix different Genres that way.
The Combat overall is very well made (as expected from Platinum). The Chip System (Character Customization) is a nice idea and fun to use. The Story is a fun ride, but if you do every Sidequest and Explore every bit of the open world you may become "over"leveled and every encounter will be way too easy. Difficulty is adjustable at any point though Choosable From "Game holds your hand Easy" to "You have to be a god with superpowers to beat it difficult".
For completionists: After you finish the game every Achievement becomes "buyable" at a Vendor for little amount of Ingame Currency.

Story: 9.5/10
Style & Aesthetic: 10/10
Music: 10/10
Sound Effects: 8.5/10
Gameplay & Combat: 8.5/10
World Design: 8.5/10
UI: 9/10
Leveling and Weapon / Chip System: 8/10

Time to complete 100% - 25-35 Hours.

Overall: A solid 9/10

BUT (HUGE BUT) the port is mediocre at best.
With release there were a bunch (a lot) of people with graphic problems, freezes, crashes, stuttering.
Those issues haven´t been addressed properly by Square Enix at all. Which is very poor.
So before you get this, you should check if there are any issues reported by other users running similar or identical setups, or just refund if you happen to be one of the unfortunate people who are unable running this game properly.
Despite this huge mess related to the port its a GREAT game. Recommended.
